So, is goaltender interface a penalty?
The rules say its a penalty.
Captain Invisible and the Sleepy Panthers. Lyon and Tkachuk were the only good things; again.
I have nothing but disdain for barkov man. Fucking invisible and couldn’t even manage a faceoff win. I didn’t anticipate a game 1 victory but Jesus if we are going to find post season success barkov HAS to do something
Obviously would’ve been nice to get the W in game 1 but overall I think we played pretty well all things considered. Lyon has to have that one next time, passing needs to be a little cleaner and Barkov needs to step it up big time, but that was an away game on marathon day in Boston. Very few less friendly buildings to play in
I can’t say I expected a game 1 win, so this doesn’t bother me much, but the boys found a strategy that could give Boston trouble in that 2nd period. I think Maurice let’s Lyon shake this one off, and cats come out hot game 2.
We need a mini rebuild around Tkachuk. Barkov Ekblad and maurice are just not it and we have no secondary talent. Staals gotta go and Givani smith is not an NHL player
Got no issue with how we played half that game… The second half of the game needs some work
Lay off barky. The bruins had a plan to neutralize him and he had Duke on his wing. The two sides of that worked well. Barky played a great defensive game and had nothing going offensively. Same could be said for swaggy. Common denominator… Duke. Guy came back from a torn Achilles. He shouldn’t be on the first line.
Givanni Smith has no business being in the lineup at this time of year.
Bruins scored a dumb luck goal on a shot from the blue and a goal off Lyons pads.
Boys and girls. We’re in this. No negativity. That was a damn good game in the garden and we showed up outside of the third period

I thought this would be a good playoff team in that game against Ottawa where we punished anyone who got near our goalie and laid the body whenever we could. From the 3rd today, it turns out they really are just a bunch of pussies who were beating up on a team of 20 year olds.
It’s not that we lost this one, it’s how we lost. Zero effort on the comeback and zero fight in the 3rd. We came out swinging with big hits and effort and end the game with a limp dick
Well we made it in at least. I think game 1 was the game to steal, maybe we won’t get swept but damn. Outclassed. Should have won that Canes game.
we played pretty decent (apart from Givani and the Lyon miscues), but idfk how we are going to score this series. even the one goal we scored was because of a perfectly placed turnover to Tkachuk. apart from that, i feel like we didn’t have any high quality chances.

Bergeron was out and we scored 1 goal. The Panthers are going to have to absolutely shock us if they want to win a game. This looked like more of the same playoff hockey we’ve seen every year. Dominate the puck and give up weak goals. This is every game. We look good but we lose. At some point someone needs to say that this isn’t working. I’m sure the in post game we’ll remain calm and stay the course and continue to lose games like this.
Barkov doing his best impression of Casper The Friendly Ghost. Otherwise they played pretty ok. I just don’t know where the offence is gonna come from.

Two players had no shots on goal tonight for the Cats, Mark Staal and Barkov
Reinhardt instead of Verhaeghe on the top power play makes no sense to me. Duclair on top line instead of Reinhardt? Barkov, Verhaeghe and Duclair … none of them are a net front presence for the top line. They left that to Barkov which is not what he does. This looks so out of sorts
At least Barkov is most consistent for the panthers in the playoffs…

I’m gonna comment a second time. Someone tell me what they expect one player to do here? The hate is on barkov. I saw below 21 points in 26 playoff games.
So. Someone give me a reason this one man is supposed to carry the whole goddamn team.
Tell me why it’s all on him.
Tell me why ekky shouldn’t step up. Tell me why Duke wasn’t shifted lines in the second period instead of the third. Tell me why Reinhart is on the third line with players that simply aren’t on the same level as him. Tell me why Staal is still getting all that time on d. And tell me why givani Smith is in the damn lineup for the playoffs. Explain all that to me and then tell me about how barkov actually played a pretty damn good two way game with a player that’s not fully healthy on his wing and why you’re choosing to crucify him specifically in this game.
He’s not McDavid. And no one has asked him to be.
This is a team game and I’ll tell you what I saw. A solid half game from the TEAM. The second half? Boston locked it down. Onto the next game. This is a seven game series and we are in it
Daddy Tkachuk was right. This team is soft. Nobody tried to drive the net, poor shots with barely anyone in front of the net. This isn’t a roster problem, it’s not a coaching problem. This is a culture problem.
Don’t act surprised, it’s just the Panthers playing like the Panthers.
