Now…..new GM can come in and decide the fate of Sutter….should be interesting to see what unfolds.
Brad's biggest move this deadline was the Ritchie swap.
And Darryl put Ritchie out in the shootout against the Preds with the game on his stick, over Toffoli, Lindholm, etc. Which ended up costing the game.
Darryl's made a lot of questionable moves, over-playing the 4th line against teams 1st lines..
Knowing this organization, if they have a HC such as Sutter under contract, they do not like firing coaches under contract. I just hope Darryl plays the younger guys more.
Re: Huberdeau and Kadri…..both have great upside….if we are having this same disappointing discussion a year from now then different story. Let's give them this upcoming season to really see if this is going to be a good fit. Maloney's job will be to create a team around Huberdeau, Kadri, Mangiapane, etc and make sure the right coach is behind the bench.

Yeah, this isn't really a surprise that GM Brad Treliving and the Flames have parted ways–after this disappointing season, changes had to be made because they were no where close to expectations.
Sutter and his, old players get the ice time ways, should be next.
As a flames fan what do you think needs to happen with the flames and with the team and who do you think will be the flames new manger and do you think will be the flames manger and do you think darry will be the coach next year and do you think the flames will have the same team next year

I don't know what they can do now personally I would gone in an opposite direction give up on the season trade the ship and get some draft picks.Instead they gave away a top pick in the MOnahan move.
The REASON the Flames have struggled is because imo they dismantled a very good defense especially losing Hamilton who is helping NJ become a contender.You need a really good D corp to be consistent otherwise you get some guys that put up some decent numbers but are MINUS on the stat sheet.The 2017/18 defense was a pretty darn good lineup ut then again brad picked up a pretty good Hanifin again at a high cost and he has underperformed.So many were also praising Weegar I laughed but whatever he is not a top pair D man more like a 4/5.
So there have been players not playing at their best and acquiring heavy contracts that lead to the Flames struggles.IMO they need a complete rebuild but sadly already traded away some needed draft picks…get them back lol.
Fire Sutter, he’s the one who ruined Huberdeau
Probably for the best. Aside from pulling a rabbit out of a hat last year (which didn't pan out), he couldn't build a winner. Time for him to move on. Maybe a different organization will he just what he needs.
Now, if we can get rid of Darryl Sutter and a few of those albatross contracts we'll be set.
