1. As a MN fan I hope Joe is OK first and foremost. The hit was hard and Joe didn't expect it, but it wasn't a major, my God have you ever played hockey, the game is speed and unfortunate things happen at times look at Dumba he went full back first into boards and two players could have been hurt. How about Suters cheap cross-check on 97. I love the intensity from both teams, but if Dallas decides to take an immature approach and get away from what made them successful this year they will be sitting at home in 2 weeks. So I urge both teams to play clean nobody wants to see injuries. Prayers for Joe.

  2. Mn fans don't argue with these people about hockey. The only time they see ice is when they go to the freezer. It was a clean hit, unfortunate outcome.

  3. True it was a lucky bounce to hartman to win. But thatis how most goals happen in every playoff game. A guy who finds his way to a spot and a puck that just squirts to him

  4. His feet leave the ground well after contact is made with pavelski… if he left his feet to initiate the hit then that rule would apply. Shoulder to shoulder… hits him under a second after the puck leaves his stick (watch at full speed) you cant adjust that quickly and stop the hit.

I want to be clear it is crazy unfortunate that Pavs got hurt. If joe gets up and doesn't hit his head it's not a talking point. Pavelski ISN'T soft. **

As for aiming for the head… dumba never even touched his head with his body a stick may have came up and caught Pavs but that isnt what youre complaining about

Lastly, at that point, where does dumba go to avoid making contact with Pavelski? both skaters are heading to the sam spot agaisnt the back boards. Does Dumba jump out of the way?

  5. The hit was a little late, he never left the ice and it was shoulder to shoulder his head did hit the ice hard. He (dumba) should have not waited to make the hit. Should have been a 2 minute Interference call. Very unfortunate play overall and I hate seeing plays like this but it’s playoff hockey.

  6. As a Stars fan we can’t cry about the hit. It was a shoulder on shoulder hit. It’s a fast and hard hitting playoff game. Playoffs have always been played that way. Let’s stop belly aching and play tough! We had our chances to win the game.

  7. Pavelski hit was clean and was on him. He let up at the wrong place. Dumba's 2 minute penalty was against Domi. Only reason the 5 minute penalty was called was so the play can be reviewed. Also it's going to be a long series for the Stars they will continue to get checked and hit, and Suter is the weak link on the team he could cost the stars a game or two if he's on the ice for 30+ minutes

  8. With all due respect, you are an extremely emotional stars fan about that hit. Easy to say the puck is far gone on a frame by frame slow mo breakdown. The puck was on his stick a half second before contact and it was shoulder to shoulder. He also didn’t “leave his feet” in a launching motion. The force of the hit also knocked him off his feet. Borderline? Maybe, but cheap and dirty, much like Suter was last not? I don’t think that’s the case

  9. Dane, we much be watching different hits, or your desire to make it something is changing your perception completely. I'm pretty sure that Dumba's feet don't leave the ice until after the contact as he went flying into the boards. I've watched the replay over multiple times, he had one skate in contact with the ice until after the hit. The hit was a fraction late and it was an intentionally hard hit. The puck was away, although it was awkwardly done by Pavelski and ended up bouncing off the net and being near the players feet when contact was made. We could replay this game and find numerous examples of players making hard hits, often with the hope of making the other guy hurt.. Most of the time the other player sees it coming and deflects or absorbs the blow. The problem here was that Pavelski wasn't expecting this hard hit. It seemed that he was trying to put the puck around the boards but he flubbed that attempt. Why he wasn't aware of Dumba in his path is unsure. I think the refs (or Toronto) got it right that the hit was technically within bounds of the rules (or how they are usually enforced) Should the rules be changed to help prevent plays such as this? I think probably so.

  10. You know what else is dumb, two blantant cross checks, one right in front of the ref, that wasn't called! Even more blantant, knowing that 97 missed a couple weeks due to a lower body injury. The Dumba hit wasn't needed, but if the refs don't wanna call the obvious crosschecks, something was gonna happen and it was a hard hit. Toronto got it right.

  11. Last nights game was super exciting and intense. It is a bummer that Pavelski was injured when his head hit the ice after the hit. Hopefully he’s okay. Game 2 should be another stressful and good game to watch.

  12. That was a clean hit by Dumba. He hit his head on the ice. Dumba feet didn't leave the ice until after the hit. What about Sutter continually cross-checked Kirill Kaprizov. That was dirty. He should get fined even though they didn't call it. He was trying to injure him and it worked.

  13. League ruled today CLEAN hit. No head contact, player didn't leave feet at impact, and it was within the 0.6 timeframe. Per NHL rules, it wasnt even a penalty.
LEARN THE GAME OR JUST GO WATCH THE NFL (national felons league)

  14. The people claiming the NHL got the call right on the replay are the same ones whining about some ticky tak cross checks on the wilds star lol. It's comical. The NHL absolutely got this wrong if it's one of there Golden boys it's called 100 times out 100 times, I love big hits that was dirty not a good hit.

  16. I hope the Stars come out ready to play with fire 🔥and energy they looked like they were half asleep at the start in the first game. Jake Oettinger had a super man like performance 🎭 between the pipes but it wasn’t enough they missed on scoring opportunities. The referees very easily could have called Charging which would have made it a major penalty. Dumba left his feet 🦶, he charged into him and knocked him to the ground. Feistiness is frowned upon in todays NHL, the NHL is turning soft not like it was in the 90s.

  17. wild fan . the wild have a heavy team this year . erickson ek will be back soon and sunquist 2 more big men . good luck stars

  18. Nobody that knows hockey that isn't a Stars fan thinks that hit was dirty. Obviously the NHL doesn't either. Hit was clean, shoulder to shoulder, bang bang play. Everything looks late in slow motion. The only reason it was called a 5:00 major on the ice was so it could be reviewed. In fact it wasn't even called a penalty at ALL until they saw Pavelski on the ground afterwards so they did the right thing and decided to review it. To call the hit dirty is pure ignorance and bias because your team was on the receiving end of an unfortunate result of the play. Stars fans want to complain about the hit but not about how their team couldn't score a single 5v5 goal in 90 minutes of play.

  19. They will be ok. They will be happy to get out of this nightmare of a series and feel ok to watch the rest of the Stanley cup playoffs from home.

  20. Dumba's skates never left the ice until after contact. Shoulder to shoulder hit. Clean hit. It doesn't matter how far the puck is away from Pav. Its how long after he got it off his stick to when he got hit. In slow motion you can say yeah it was a late hit but in live action it was no more than a half second. Bam bam play. At worst the call should be interference. But that's pushing it.
Do gotta say the goaltending was awesome on both sides.

  21. Your whole take on a good hit is laughable. The puck was moving fast and the slow motion looks bad but it's literal fractions of seconds too late, which is interference at worse. I'd like to hear you come out say you where wrong about his skates leaving the ice, because that never happened. Super clean hit other than being .45 seconds late. Sucks he got hurt. Fans of the sport don't want to see a guy get hurt like that. If his head doesn't bounce off the ice, he would have been fine. Dumba has never aimed for the head, and didn't here, because he hit him square in the shoulder. If Dallas can't figure out how to score even strength goals, this will be a short series.
