What a nice game. Excellent checks, excellent skill, excellent speed. I wish all NHL games were like this. It could have been closer if the Devils had a little more luck. But, I'm glad that the Rangers won. This series will be fun to watch. May the best team win. (And hopefully that's the Rangers.)

This Devil's team needed one thing to be a Stanley Cup contender – a proven and confidant goalie. Instead of securing this piece, they went after Timo which has offered nothing to an already solid forward depth chart…Devils looked young and nervous in Game 1, overskating the puck, passing instead of shooting on wide-open looks in the slot, and not finishing checks. It was scary how they were unable to make the adjustments after Period 1. It shows you their lack of confidence might be insurmountable. Devils will have to get their cherry popped before they can come back tougher and (hopefully) with a goalie…Switching to the Rags (whom I despise) but I will offer an unbiased opinion. They are the most well balanced Rangers team that I've seen EVER, even more so than 1994. Last year's loss to the Bolts has hardened them and made them thirsty for the Cup this year. I compare them to the 95 Devils who had a heartbreaking loss in the Eastern Finals in 94, but came back thirsty to win the Cup the following year. I think the Rangers will go all the way on the back of Igor, Fox, and crew.
Admin, maybe don’t put a “headline” in the title. Just keep it as the matchup. Sometimes us who miss the game come to these as a quick way to watch a game I missed.
O.k.first…Rangers deserved the win.Devils played,had their chances and proved that this is something new.The playoffs.I expect that they will win the next game.Live and learn.
NJ has like no playoff experience, I feel like Rangers take this in 5, maybe 6. A lot of these younger teams absolutely crumble when the pressure is on.
