I TOLD YALL TO WATCH OUT FOR MY KRAKEN
Best game of the year I’d say. Kraken!!!
So after every Game 1 is complete, the home teams went 2-6. It's really starting to seem like home ice matters less and less as time goes on.
I'm a Kings fan, which means that in 2018 I watched them underestimate the first time playoff bound Vegas Golden Knights. They got swept 4-0, the Avs need to be careful and focus up in a hurry, this isn't a series that will "take care of itself", they gotta earn it.
One thing not talked about was the crowd, Avs fans were loud!! As in really, really loud at times drowning out the commentators. Seeing Kraken win through that was incredible.
Go Kraken!
Grub with a statement game against his old team. Win or lose the Kraken are proving they can hang with anyone in the league.
So people are forgetting that colorado protected Grubauer from the expansion draft. He left in free agency for more money. He signed with Seattle for that money and look at the season he had last year and this year. Not great. I think we need to lose the narrative that he's got a chip on his shoulder. Yeah he's playing his former team so there's some extra motivation but he wasn't "done dirty" or anything by Colorado. I wish they could've kept him over Kuemper for last year. Anyway, high hopes for the rest of the series. It'll be competitive and the Avs got the wakeup call they need if they want to hang around.
I really was surprised that the Avs could score one goal. It was a miracle.
So far,my picks have all brought it . Kings, Kraken, Bolts!
I think this came down to the goalies. My confidence in Georgiev hasn't been solid this year, he's not quite as good a Kuemper, Kuemper had his moments where he looked shaky and wasn't consistent but he is big and when he was in the zone he was really good. I don't see that in Georgiev, going down early, staying in the butterfly, he had two goals fly over his left shoulder when he needed to be tall in net and he was caught sitting.
Skaters also seemed to be off, shots not hitting the net, passes intercepted. I foresee a lot of video reviewing and a strategy change.
One can't underestimate the importance of a healthy Gabriel Landeskog to the Avs.
From an Avs fan, congrats Seattle on your first playoff win. I wasn't even upset, just impressed. But I'm also wondering where this version of Grubauer was in 2021 when he choked against Vegas. If the Avs can't figure him out soon, it's gonna be over in 5 or 6 games.
So this "Ref you suck!" thing.
There being two referees it's generic, right?
So, not personal at all. Not specific.
Good, Mom wouldn't like it being specific.
That’s Kraken hockey baby. Let’s go Kraken. This young franchise could teach the Maple Leafs a thing or two about how to play playoff hockey.
Let’s go kraken, baby! 🦑
LA, SEATTLE, MINNY, WPG …. all win game 1… bizaaaaro
I think the Avs will win the series. But still this raises a question. What if… Will we see more of these four-cylinder engines in the future? Less star power, more evenly spread ice time, fresh 60 minute hockey. Is it bad for business? People love underdogs and Cinderella stories for sure but at the end of the day everybody wants to jump on the winner's wagon and cheer for the superstars, be excited about early draft picks who will dominate the league (no matter if 80 % of NHL players are bigger and stronger than they will ever be). Mostly, is that against the (Canadian?) hockey ethos that you can win games in 40 minutes by overplaying your top guns?
Kraken were great and Grubauer was sensational. Looks like it's gonna be a tough series for the Avs. Go Avs!!
Why does everyone keep saying we got rid of Grubi he was a free agent and the Kraken paid him. He left.
The Avs were off last night and it was a little embarrassing to watch. They were missing their passes, shots, the Newhook line was useless, there were bad defensive turnovers, etc. It was just bad.
I hate to be the guy that corrects you, so I’ll just add some context. The Avs made an offer the Grubauer and the Kraken out bid them by $500k. It pissed a lot of fans off but some of us felt it was because of the way the team just folded and left Grub out to dry in the 2021 series against Vegas that pissed him off enough to leave over a relatively small amount of money. Also I think he wanted his name in the history books of a brand new team.
that was a piss poor effort by the boys , it was like they were out drinking all night and it was the first time playing in denver wow , no battle no skating shitty passes ,could of won on pps alone , georgi was great every one else gets a F ,manson was just terrable, choochoo hes lost his speed idk whats going on with him he clearly isnt 100% and hitting the net cleary seems to be an issue for some reason smh ,better unleash the beast on thursday
I got clowned on for saying kraken are pesky and could steal one or two
