Poor game all around, but I’m going to look on the bright side here. Hopefully this is the final nail in the coffin of which goalie should be starting from Dean’s point of view. Ever since acquiring Fleury, he’s been given way too much priority in the organization. I still think Talbot would have given us a chance last year, and I hope this is the only game Fleury sees the ice this year. The first two games of this series makes it crystal clear who gives this team the best chance to win every game.

Edit to Add: I don’t want this to come across as Fleury slander, because that’s not the intention. He’s had some great performances this season and I love his personality. Unfortunately I think he’s just a step behind at this point in his career and Gus has shown to be the clam, steady, and consistent goalie this team needs.

Simply put, this was another foot off the gas game in the playoffs when the Wild held all the momentum.

Everyone’s performance from Flower out lacked the killer instinct we’ve seen from so many other Wild teams. If this hasn’t been so common place I would forgive it given the injury situation. I can’t forgive not taking a bite out of this team.

There was no sustained physicality to wear the Stars down. Soft response from a « tough team ». Play was sloppy all night and gave the Stars offensive confidence without Pavelski. The Wild did not come out and make a single statement. When they had momentum they wilted in the face of adversity. Dean didn’t make adjustments and galaxy brained the tendy situation. Too many times have we seen this be the hinge point in another first round loss.

The game comes back to St. Paul Fri. The series likely hinges on their response. It isn’t over, and let’s hope it’s a good one.

I’m glad we didn’t put gus in for the 3rd. No need for gus to go through that if our defense is playing so poorly

  4. MistahFinch

Still outscoring them 5 on 5.

They still haven’t beat Gus 5 on 5.

    We’re going home tied.

I’m good with everything here but these refs

  5. _BeerAndCheese_

Inb4 I have to read about how every one of those goals absolutely wasn’t Fleury’s fault at all.

I remember when people made the same excuses for Dubnyk for so long.

  6. BuckyCop

Dean lived up to his reputation.

  7. JaysterJay

No matter how you slice it.. I hate to be that guy but I don’t see a world where Fleury can play another single game the rest of this season. Don’t re-sign him either.. lol
edit: he is already through next year. fuck. hahaha

  8. simplyme216

Onwards and upwards. Short memory. Back to the X.

  9. MedalofHodor

I’ve seen this one before, this is where we lose our heads and never get them back for the rest of the series.

  10. McSaxual34

Whatever. Doesn’t matter, don’t care. Best of 5.

  11. ILikeLiftingMachines

Y’all gotta stand up for Kap and protect him. Fucking embarrassing.

  12. basketcase-nimrod

game 3 on friday at home. i’ve never been more ready to scream and boo suter at the same time. also gonna try a truly

  13. spinorama29

Oh well. Come back for game 3. Coming home tied 1-1 is still a W in my book

  14. stumpybubba

I don’t think it would be physically possible for ESPN to jerk off Dallas anymore than it did tonight. Holy flying fuck it’s absolutely ridiculous.

That said, I’ll make sure to get plenty fucking litty titty on Friday and bring the noise from the upper deck. Fuck Norm Green, fuck the shit ass state of Texas (mfers should try seceding again), and fuck I’m glad we can go to bed at a normal hour at least. Night all!

  15. Seraphax

I get that we need to rest Gus so he can recover, but honestly, I never want to see Fleury in a playoff game again after this embarrassment

  16. RepulsiveIncrease155

Game 3 in the x absolutely gonna be crazy after seeing that

  17. fastal_12147

Total team collapse. Just completely gave it away after those two in the second. Why can’t we get it in deep? Why are we passing so much at the blue line? We’ve gotta simplify. Too many guys trying to skate in and score. We’ve gotta start getting the dirty ones.

  18. Empire2k5

Lol stars fans not even staying to cheer on the victory? Well see you boys Friday

  19. dcdoyle03

honestly, im not as mad about the score as I am about the refs deciding they weren’t going to show up until the last 2 minutes

  20. Darrell_Winfield

    Handing out misconducts like candy

  21. martinweidner

Got our butts handed to us. However I can’t imagine how electric this friday will be at the X. Gus gets the start, St. Paul will be buzzin on a friday night, and the boys are PISSED. Someone on either team is getting their ass kicked on friday.

  22. MightyMiami

We boo Suter so loud on Friday that he has to get a new hearing aid.

  23. HemoKhan

Just a miserable fucking game. We have yet to win a single period against these guys — we stole a win in game 1 but we’ve been outplayed every single period, and I’m not sure I trust Deano to fix whatever’s broken.

Gonna need to see some incredible changes very quickly if we want to win another game this series.

  24. Trainmanwildfan

Well at least we didn’t have to stay up until 1 AM for this one. Tonight was classic game 2 Wild. With tonight’s loss, the Wild are now 3-14 all time in game 2’s including 0-5 with a chance to go up 2-0 in the series.

  25. ObjectiveList9

The first shot against us going in made me feel sick to my stomach. Echoing what others say here that I hope this at the very least cements goaltending. On the bright side yeah I guess Gus is still rested up for arguably our two most important home games.

  26. dcdoyle03

clean slate. at home Friday. I now view it as a best of 5 series

  27. expungant

Well the controversy got a whole lot less controversial.

It’s Gustavsson’s net for the rest of the series.

  28. KingSulley

Between us not marking players on our crease, to the refing, to ESPN dogwater commentary tonight, I’m ready to see the boys kick ass in the Xcel

  29. _nordstar_

Can you not start the backup again thanks. Also we need ek, hart, and better D.

  30. mayflowerss98

Suter so hated that guys who weren’t even teammates with him are running at him lol

  31. JohnDalysBAC

Man do I hate losing to that trashy team. Bad game and Fleury was awful opening Dean up to all the criticism. How the wild play better for Gus in game 3. And I hope Suter is given a very warm welcome in St. Paul. I’m so tired of his shit. I’m glad Duhaime stood up to him at the end of the game. Somebody needs to

  32. teethyear

Hey at least we aren’t making death threats after this loss like Dallas was after their loss

  33. HerbalAndy

    Let’s all calm down.

(Hopefully) We are going to have some very key players back home when we play on Friday night.. you gotta think Hartman and Ek should be good to go.. and just like Dallas has had blatant home field advantage we will also have that.

If I know anything it’s that everything comes down to how the refs call the game and your ability to adapt to that.. if we can figure out the PK these chuckle fuckers don’t stand a chance.

  34. jlund19

The Wild need to figure out how to stop Dallas’ PP. Plain and simple. Doesn’t help that we are down Ek and Hartman, but special teams needs to show up.

Oh, also according to the Stars sub, we are a « bunch of whiny bitch asses »

  35. MrMisties

I’m just disappointed with the lack of physicality. It’s like we decided to let them off easy with the hits cuz we got good ones in the first game, meanwhile Dallas was playing like a team that wanted to win. A well deserved loss for the Wild and I hope to God we bounce back with some fire on Friday. Otherwhys this series is going to get away from us VERY quickly. Bring some stability and consistency back to our defense, and we’ll be fine.

  36. mighthavetolitigate

Man I wish Fleury was a prick so I could shit on him. Instead I want to wipe his tears, read him a bedtime story, tuck him in and pray I don’t see him in net again these playoffs.

  37. TheTree-43

    2 things can be true:

    1) Gus is the starter

    2) The team absolutely failed Fleury

  38. LukeSbj

Stole 1 game in Dallas, I’ll take it. Take the loss and move forward. Bruins lost tonight 6-3, is it over for them? Can’t wait for Friday when they play in a real hockey atmosphere 😈

  39. Epic_Coleslaw

Gonna be honest, it feels like Zucc should be moved off of the first line until he gets some mojo back. He just looks lost out there.

  40. JamesBlonde21

Put Nyquist on the top line. The lizard has not been good enough there for months

  41. TheMasterL0ller

Fleury gave up some bad goals, but the random line changes cause of injury really hurt us. I hope we get Ek and Hartman back before Friday.
