Had a feeling King would be the odd man out in the offseason.

Im going to assume Gonchar is going to be really involved in the PP going forward.

Wow this is a bit of a shock imo. The power play wasn’t world beating or anything but 11th is pretty respectable. I thought he did a pretty good job especially given the loss of their top PP goal scorer

King was hired as assistant coach in December 2020 and worked with Green and Boudreau before Tocchet.

On Donnie and Dhali yesterday, Dhaliwal mentioned that a report out of Russia has some coach in the KHL linked to this job. Last name was Vorobiev or something.

Not a loss for the team. King had his opportunity and got a lot of experience coaching from this.

I’m okay with this. Our powerplay under King wasn’t bad as a whole, but was always incredibly off and on (also occasionally propped up by individual efforts.) I’d take consistent results over random hot streaks, even if the season average is a little lower. At least then you’re less likely to run ice cold special teams come playoffs (if by some crazy chance we qualify next year.)

Finally I’ve been saying for years the pp succeeds despite kings lack of creativity. Way too stagnant

As a Canucks fan, I’m hoping this coaching change can bring some much-needed success to the team. While it’s always unfortunate to see someone lose their job, it’s clear that changes need to be made after a disappointing season. I’m curious to see who they bring in to replace King and what new strategies they’ll bring to the table. Here’s hoping for a brighter future for the Canucks! #GoCanucksGo

Not that our PP was horrible, but I’ve always thought it could be better with the talent we have.

I’d like to see the team try Hronek and Hughes on the 1st unit. Let Hronek stay back and clap bombs and Hughes can skate around causing havoc as he sees fit. That frees a spot up for OEL on the 2nd unit.

I wasn’t a huge fan of his PP strategy, especially since it really relied on scoring right off the hop and not really controlling the zone. Small sample size obviously but I’ve liked the two guys Tocchet has brought with him so far so I’m eager to see who comes next.

How the fuck is Yeo the one guy that’s gonna stay

I was really surprised he was still around even this season. The special teams numbers have been dog shit for years.

    They need a switch up.

Mike Yeo has 9 lives, it’s the only way to explain it at this point.
