  1. Night of the Living Kostin. I knew he was due. Oilers lack of discipline came very close to costing them huge, as this was a must win game. No way would I like Oil Odds in a must win 4 of 5 scenario. Leon best player on the ice 2 games in a row imo, but I sure didn't like that penalty he took. Oiler Key To winning this series is really simple. Don't take any bad penalty's at all period, play smart and stay Hungry! Oilers in 6)

  2. Your right guys Korpisalo was fantastic, Skinner was nowhere near as good, in fact he was a liability in the 2nd period.

  3. If McDavid, RNH, Hyman, and Kane were all going these past two games wouldn’t have even been close. Scary to think about.

  4. 13 didn’t get lucky he’s got 4 like that. He’s deadly with quick hands and incredible moves. Good win looking to LA. GKG

  5. Good to see the win.
I agree with Bruce, Skinner's post coverage is not good enough. Both of those goals shouldn't have gone in.

  6. Good observation by David re cover the defense first when ahead – including just take the BODY more often vs chase the puck & on Yamamoto, and Kane has been a concern – lot of penalties including again tonight. Could have been a disaster if LA post had gone in & Kostin saved – very close to being down -2. But at 1-1 team is looking good.

  7. heard kostin's shot was 90mph i don't know about that but that wrist shot had slap shot power

  8. Leon is the best oiler in this series so far and he is a brillant 2way player. He battles hard makes his teammates better! He is spectacular to watch and has a great mindset! McDavid is a different type of player but for me Leon is not less talented

  9. TBH, i have seen oilers getting screwed more by the refs in the past.
Kings were really disciplined…yes, there was the sucker punch vs Desharnais, but still…

  10. In regards to Bruce's "bad thing" where Stu Skinner was not properly positioned in net which ended up costing the the Oilers 2 goals, this matter was brought up in Skinner's post game interview. However and much to his credit, instead of sloughing off those goals as minor details, Skinner acknowledged those important errors and vowed that he would do his best to not repeat those errors in the future. A solid answer to say the least.

  11. Man, Draisaitl was a beast again! Draisaitl is like, thee most powerful attacker in the NHL, he is ridiculously strong. Love that guy❤.

  12. Foegele again played a great game, would love to see Yammo dropped down for Foegele. Or Kostin.

Second Game of the series. I couldn't watch or listen to this one at all so just going from the stats sheets and the highlights. Leon has the first shot, Ryan is perfectly positioned to get the rebound. That is what a patient vet can do for you and it's one nothing just over 2 1/2 minutes in. Then we have the ONE formal PP the Oilers get the McDavid, Bouch, McDavid, Leon with the One Timer from his office. Two nothing Oilers. The boys then took a siesta during the 2nd period while LA scored to tie it up. Finally the third period and more Depth Scoring bails them out. The game winner by Kostin who is surrounded by 3 LA Kings and says WTF I'll just shoot and it goes in. I don't think Korpisalo was even thinking it was an option allowing for how the Kings had him surrounded. So what I consider a lucky goal wins us the game. Finally Kane to Draisaitl to Kane for the empty netter after Korpisalo got pulled for the extra attacker and Skinner weathered the storm. He played a lot better this game as did the Oilers in front of him from what I saw. I still think 4 penalties is 4 too many. They have to tighten it up and be disciplined. The first period Leon for slashing, yeah I didn't see it but if he did, he did. The three in the 2nd with Nuge, Leon, and Kane all taking penalties including a delay of game on Kane was, ah, challenging. Yes the Oilers PK handled it but still, don't give them freebie shots. I thought the 99 combined hits last game was a lot, this game, 112 so there will be a LOT of bruises and bumps taken. The Oilers won. Series is tied up. Now they need to win in LA. They do that and we can finish it off next week at home. Just get 3 more W's in this round boys and we're going to round two but until the job is done don't take anything for granted. Take care all.

  14. David talking about Tikkanen's goal at 9:50 is the 1991 Oilers-Flames Game 7. Edmonton was down 3-0 in the first, but right at the end Tik blasted the puck by Vernon. In the end the Oil won 5-4. One of the greatest games I've ever seen.

  15. It looked to me like skinner had his skate on the post, and the puck went under the blade and hit the bottom of his pad.

In both cases he fed t fully seal, but they were also unlucky bounces where the puck found the tiniest of holes. 9/10 both those goals don’t go in.

  16. Just keep wearing this Kings team down, without Korpisalo and some puck luck they would already be down 2 zip!

  17. 33:20 it does seem to be over correcting the power play advantage against the Oilers. You can comment that LA is being more disciplined but there were clear penalties not called on both teams.

  18. Come on guys,..if you're going to spend so much time on bad things, get it right. Skinner had his skate blade right up against the post on that goal.

  19. Whatever Holland has done wrong is outweighed by all the good he has done!…I love ekholm…kostin…bugstead…janmark and I hope we can keep them all in the off season!…would be nice to bring in another good right defenseman say like Colton parayko..another solid goalie like a korpisalo!

  20. Draisilte is playing his best hockey right now. Maybe McDavid is either sick or injured. He hasn't been as noticeable as he use to be compared to the regular season.
Skinner let in two soft goals in the 2nd, hope he learns from the mistakes and move on.
I don't get why LA only gets 1 penalty. There should be a roughing penalty against LA in the last 2 mins of the game but the ref decided to let it go, but they call Bouchard a high stick to the shoulder pad in game 1.

  21. Does Dustin Swartz have to come back. Because thosev2 LA goals shouldnt have wen in, this after hearing Bruce speaking about those FUNDAMENTAL ERRORS….Skinner is still learning the NHL game…I would rather have a veteran goalie as the Goalie coach..Never heard of Dustin swartz in the NHL…Sad but true..

  22. Good win for the Oilers! That said, the refereeing still needs to improve. The Oilers should have won this game 4-0. The Kings got two fluky goals tonight. Still, the fix is in. The refs managing the game making sure this is a long series. What the heck: 10 power plays for the lowly LA Kings and only 4 power plays for the Oilers. Bushee George Bushee League.

No more pathetic plumber teams winning the Stanley Cup please. Oilers need to blitz the LA Queens in Los Angeles and put them in their place. And how about calling more penalties on the Kings refs? I know what's happening, the refs are managing the series to make sure this goes 6 or 7 games. By prolonging each series, the refs ensure they have more labor work and earn more money due to the higher games count. It is so obvious that this is what is happening.
Or the NHL just doesn't want Edmonton to win the series……the pathetic bush leaguers they are.

    Enough said. 🙂
