Re: Gavrikov. He commits more penalties than he draws (so NOT good). He has close enough to zero points not to make a big difference. I just don't think he's worth the price. Not according to his stats. He's a 2LD who trends, on a decent team, to more of a 3LD. Honestly I just don't think it's worth it. Great news about Hyman being 1st star of the week. I think Stauffer mentioned that Broberg and Holloway were "untouchable" and he WORKS for the Oilers organization so odds are it's a fact. Great vid as always. Take care all.

When you look at dman available in terms of what we know for the trade deadline, gavrikov is by far the best option. I’m not even going to consider RHD because I don’t see us moving any of Ceci, Barrie, or Bouchard until the off-season. One guy is chychrun who is a walking bandaid but is a good dman. He would cost a bare minimum two first then you’d need to be able to figure out how to get salaries to match. There is Matt dumba who plays with a lot of heart and is liked in the dressing room but again trying to make a trade work with his cap hit is probably not even worth making a deal. Gostisbehere is just a no. Finally edmundson plays a similar game to gavrikov but is 700k more expensive and they want the same about as Columba’s wants for gavrikov and edmundson is a far worse player imo.

1. Brian Dumoulin (Pit) age 31 2nd pair LD: 80 playoff games, 2 Cups, very physical but rarely takes penalties, 4.1mil exp contract
2. Matt Dumba (Min) age 29 Top pair RD: over 40 playoff games, tough, hard hitter, offensive as well, is on the block! 6mil exp contract
3. Max Domi (Chi) Top 6 Winger or 3C: tough, gritty but can also snipe. 3mil exp contract
4. Sam Lafferty (Chi) Top 9 RW: gritty & fast two way player. 1.15 mil 2 yr contract
TOTAL $ IN: 14.250 mil
Trading out:
1. Codi Ceci: 3.25 mil 3 yr contract
2. Jesse P: 3mil expiring contract
3. Warren Foeggle: 2.75 mil 2 yr contract
4. Brett Kulak: 2.75 mil 4yr contract
5. Kailer Yamo: 3.1 mil 2 yr contract
TOTAL OUT: $14.85 mil

"Put JP on Waivers and someone will claim him"? WTF Kind of asset management is that? He's still a valuable, productive, effective NHL Player, you don't just give away assets for absolutely nothing if you want to be successful long-term
Broberg getting better daily & the addition of Desharnais is awesome, and has reduced the D need considerably. I know Gavrikov takes penalties, and is at best a line 2 D, but he is an experienced stay at home D and plays over 20 minutes, but he would still be a good addition especially for OUR UPCOMING LONG PLAYOFF RUN :D.
And good point on the 1st round pick (it's gonna be a late 1st rounder); I would do that for a Gavrikov rental in a heartbeat. I think alot of people put far too much value on picks sometimes. JP was 4th overall and we're having trouble giving him away now. And where's Yakupov playing nowadays?
Should target a stud defenseman and a faceoff specialist. There's always injuries in the playoffs. Nurse injury last playoffs was the beginning of the end.
Gavrikov is a go all day … he out played all our D last night. What on earth is Bouchard doing out there he has been giving the puck away constantly and the icing thing is getting old.
