    yeah lots of delusion here , sam is waist deep in it. the idea of a “bunting tax” is insane and a complete cop out for his poor on ice behavior. his reputation with the refs this season is his own fault , no one else’s. I’ll agree there’s inconsistencies in regards to the dops , but that doesn’t excuse the hit by any means.

    Cernak going down like he was shot was embarrassing. Where's your pride? Before the first lockout; you had guys like J.R. who would play with a broken jaw. Ryan Smyth would get high sticked in the face and not even flinch. Hockey has become completely emasculated now.

    I would have been sitting Bunting regardless f the suspension. He is a major distraction.

    Some of the takes on this hit are so bad.
    Intent to injure or not, there was no reason for that hit whatsoever but he still went through with it. It would have been interference anyways, but he took it one step further and hit the guy in the head when the puck wasn't close. That should be 2-3 games. If it was someone who had been suspended before I could even see it be longer. It was a dangerous hit to the head for no reason. So I agree, cheks all the boxes of a dangerous hit that should not be in the game + Cernak is now out.

    Sam is right. It would be called a good hit by a gritty team if it was Tampa.
    But Bunting is a fool. And intended to injure. So he gets what he gets.

    Thank you Kyper for posing that question. If one of the leafs dman got taken out like that there would be calls for blood by the leaf fans. Also, think of it as protecting your star players, if Bunting got 1 game and Cernak is out for the rest of the series why not take a run at Matthews, Marner, or Willy to even it out?

    It's delusional to use the word "hit" to describe what Bunting did. It was an elbow. It was interference, he jumped, and it was 100% elbow directly to the head.
