I don’t think Gibson will sign off on going to Ottawa. Friedman also said Pittsburgh wants Gibson for Rust or for Guentzel.
Gibson likely will be fine with Pitt. Ottawa I don’t think he would want to go. And he has a 10 team list of acceptable trades

This trade gets messy also. He has 4 years remaining at 6.4 million. And it takes it into his early 30s. Teams will have to send salary back to make their cap work plus something positive for Anaheim to consider it. Anaheim could use a retention slot. But 4 years is a long ass time. So the teams need to pay us extra for us to use one.
Demko seems like the more likely candidate for Ottawa or for Pitt. He’s cheaper and younger. And Canucks can use more draft capital

What does Ottawa have?
Not likely but maybe Debrincat doesn’t want to resign with Ottawa and asks to be moved.
I’m looking at any team currently in the playoffs who will be upset in the first round because of sub par goaltending. New Jersey maybe. Bratt for Gibson.

friedman is throwing things at a wall to see what sticks. he’s been beating this drum for years at this point; it won’t happen.

They don’t have the assets that they’d be willing to give up to make it worth doing

Gibson is a good fit for any team that doesn’t have a top 5 goalie.
Verbeek already said he’s not moving Gibby. You don’t trade away a great goalie once you have one.
