No conclusive evidence high sticking. Move along.
The Leafs are 0 – 8 in the play offs when Wes Macauley is the ref, he has a beef with Sheldon Keefe for testifing against his brother in law David Frost, think it is a coincidence the Leafs have 0 wins in those 8 games i think not, Macauley has it in for the Leafs and should not be refing thier play off games period.
For me the problem is that refs manage games instead of calling them.
Gambling… Just think of how much money the refs (whomever else) make literally betting against the Oilers.
The way I see it, if every penalty was called that "should" be called the games would be far too long. The high stick that lead to the winning goal last night was EXTREMELY close. I've been both ways on it, because it's really hard to see if the puck actually hits his stick from the angles given.
Ok bit of a screw up by the refs but I can’t be the only one who’s watch this oilers and kings series and say this might be just some sloppy play. The oilers lack of discipline and blowing a couple of 2 goal leads couple of bad starts for the kings. There’s been some entertainment but no really looking like playoff hockey
Refs or not, Oilers need to score 5 on 5 and get someone besides McDavid and Draisaitl to score. You shouldn’t need the two of them to combine for 4 points minimum to win a game. Oilers, get depth scoring and stop taking dumb penalties and they should take the series. On a side note Korpisalo has been fantastic in net the first three games and is the main reason imo the oilers aren’t up 3 to nothing.
Hockey is a rough sport I’ve been watching since I was little girl and i see love the rough n fast side
That’s determination that’s how you win I m posting on my sons fb
Oh,quit your whining,if you don't like it,go watch ringette.
Poetic justice for Connor Mccrosscheck
All this discourse always happened… Before it was in the pubs now its on twitter. Theres no difference really. Certain fans will always make these sorts of statements. Bad refing has unfortunately taken the forefront this year because its been so blatantly obvious. With slo mo and replays from every angle every mistake gets magnified and if its against your team its all the more evident. When these mistakes cause losses, it really doesnt matter to the fanbase if its been an entertaining playoff. Because right now, for most fans, the only thing that matters is their team.
If you look at when he goes over the bench, his stick is intact. When he gets up he noticed his stick blade is gone. One of the players on the bench broke his stick which is why he was angry.
I want to see the LA players doing the Neymar's roll.
The problem is there’s no accountability by refs so and if you say anything u get fined and yes I know there’s going to be people out there that say oh there going to miss calls and they can’t see everything but its the national. Hockey league of. A players sucks at his job you think he keeps playing in the nhl like nothing is wrong I don’t think so
Refs are a joke and so is the Toronto office, it’s corrupt all the way.
Oh now you want to talk about the referees? Meanwhile when the Isles got screwed you barely mentioned it.
Oh look…. Another Canadian complaining about the officiating. 🙄
Edmonton, despite being the better team in the series is self destructing because they are not playing disciplined hockey. The calls have all been warranted. A bunch of slashing and cross-checking penalties tell me the Oiler Goon Squad are digging their own graves. I don’t even like the Kings. As a SJ Sharks fan they’re one of our biggest rivals. I just am sick of everyone crying the Kings haven’t laid down and allowed Connor McDavid to put on a show. Sorry you groupies aren’t getting assist from the refs and have to actually earn it. If it’s any consolation at least ALL the ESPNTSN National Announcers share your groupie crushes on the oilers and can’t stop blowing your wads all over your McDreamy analysis.
God, it sickens me to say this but — GOOOOO KINGS!!!!
Oilers keep complaining but they never mention the bad calls that go their way or calls that were missed on them too.
The refs haven’t gotten worse, we have. We nit pick everything and expect the game to be fair. It never was and it never will be. Enjoy the game and let it go. Oilers fans mad about a high stick… why aren’t you mad at Nurse for a bad defense play to let it in? Don’t make a video about the refs unless is about us the fans!
It takes away from what it means to win the cup. Honestly the last handful of teams were carried by the refs. It's all about gate and gambling revenue.
Here’s the thing. I’ve noticed that officiating for some ungodly reason seems to biased towards the American teams. My dad said it’s been like this ever since betman took over which makes sense considering it’s been 30 years since a Canadian teams won the cup
Current society….its the refs fault, its the Kings fault, blaming everyone except themselves. According to media, Edmonton was going to have no problems with the Kings 4-1 at most. Easy peasy. Why don't the Oilers step up, take blame, and play better. Don't give the refs a chance to make a call, score 6 or 7, you are capable. Otherwise, in a few games you can pick up your participation awards. P.S. The high stick is the definition of inconclusive half the people see it one way, the other half see it another. If it was called on the ice, it wouldn't have been overturned. The league needs to revisit the video reviews and limit it to plays that effect the immediate goal or call. IMO
The thing is refs make mistakes but this one was costly, and not because it's the Oilers it could of been any team and was. This game could of cost a team the Standley Cup. What every team wants is calls being called fare, if you don't know what off side is or high sticking or any other penalty is then I would suggest you refs go back and learn a little more before you become a referee.
The leafs are 0-8 in the playoffs when Wes McCauley is reffing. I really don’t think it’s a coincidence. He should not be allowed to ref leafs games. His bias is too blatant.
I watched the oilers vs kings game 3, and the amount of diving by the kings was actually ridiculous and a shame to the game. If anything the kings should’ve been on the PK more for diving
i also miss the days when the refs just let players play when the playoffs come around.
i really just typed "play" three times.
however, what is this about video evidence the refs didnt see proving it was a high stick? i didnt see anything online like that. and i looked. now, first of all, it doesnt matter. the game is over and the refs didnt get this mythical camera angle (that was probably some dude's phone camera, if it exists at all), the point is to find conclusive evidence, not "the truth". there is a difference. i said first of all, but i dont have anything to add. it was the right call.
just saying i wanna know what u would look like if nurse hit u like that when u didnt expect it
There’s no crying in hockey. Last playoff the Oilers got away with a ton of physical infractions. They lost to the Kings and came up with the solution to rough up the Kings at every turn. And they got away with it. This year the Kings evolved and this is their response.
Also, all of the Oiler fans who keep using the “the puck changed vector so therefore high stick”…the puck changes vector due to something called gravity.
This feels a bit like 2012 where Vancouver was the villain and everyone suddenly was a Kings fan…the enemy of my enemy.
They either start calling everything or nothing. None of this game management nonsense.
It's tough to watch. I don't think the nhl wants Canadian teams winning and if you frame the reffing in that context suddenly alot of it makes sense. At some point we need to have some accountability. I knew that was high sticked when it happened and I said to my partner in the review that it was going to be a no call.
Imagine how many 5 on 3s the kings would get if draisaitl and kane got called for all there crap
Lol every time blame the refs
Power plays 5-4 but it’s the refs fault the oilers have no depth scoring
