Charles Wang was an impressive and respected self-made man, an immigrant as well, he was good to everyone he crossed paths with and was almost more known for his philanthropy than he was for owning the Isles. He wasn’t a great hockey mind by any means but the way Mike Milbury acts like he had nothing to do with the failures of the Islanders is pathetic. Do the Chiclets guys even know Charles Wang died of cancer just a few years ago? I get that the topic is relevant when interviewing Milbury but damn let the man rest in peace.
Sounds like Wang paid Milbury millions of dollars over several years to do practically nothing, and he’s complaining about it! Milbury should be visiting Wang’s grave on a weekly basis and showering it with flowers and gold flakes. Milbury Is a clown and always has been.
There is something wrong with him! He is sick or something, hope I’m wrong
He’s either hi on yayo or sick he has shortness of breath he’s fighting
When someone sends you and extra year's pay and at the end asks you if you need anything else, you thank him, and ask him if YOU can do anything for him.
and the isle's are still a joke to this day
There's a lot of Milbury BS here. He had a HUGE hard-on for Yashin and the Dipietro contract. I'm sure there are other examples of him screwing up while doing his thing. He scoffs at Snow, but he was light years better than Dinkleberry. The Isles are still largely the team Snow built thru the draft, and Snow did it under the same ownership. Lets not forget, Snow drafted Sorokin when many assumed he would never play in NA.
Loose shoe Mike, we all watched you do your part to turn NBC's NHL coverage into a 3 ring circus. Here's my Dinkleberry impersonation: Anyone who takes this guys version of events as fact is a moron.
Thank god for the late Charles Wang. What a rollercoaster but he ultimately kept us on LI and sold to Ledecky and Malgin who have been amazing. Things could have gone much, much worse.
Sounds like the owner took care of Milbury. But Milbury didnt take care of the Islanders.
the 30 for 30 on this is great. Can't recommend it enough.
I wish I had a time machine to go back to 1993 and avert all the trash this guy did. What a joke he is. Why this podcast gave him a platform is beyond me.
Milbury is the real joke.👎
The number of Ads I’m getting here is what’s a joke! Golllly! I wanna keep watching but this is getting ridiculous!
The Islanders won 4 cups this is a lie and Milbury is a joke and a fraud
Dude, you made them a joke….
What a clown.
Ungrateful pos
Garbage person
Craps on the dead owner after he gave him free money.. not too mention he completely screwed the Islanders with some of the worst trades
God forbid he takes the blame for his own actions….
Mike Milbury could have been GM for life because Wang hired him and Chuckie Wang never admitted he was wrong about anything. I was co founder of a fan support group called STIC and appear in the 30 for 30 documentary. We were all over ownership (both Wang and the previous owners) and made their lives miserable. Because only ownership who didn’t care about the Islanders, their fans, or their history would hire an asshat like Milbury first as coach and then GM. BTW Neil Smith was fired because he made a trade purposefully without running it by Wang. Why be a GM if the owner is the de facto GM? If he wasn’t fired, he would have quit. Pat LaFontaine was so disgusted with Wang firing Smith that he quit the next day. But Milbury didn’t quit because all he cared about was his paycheck.
Milbury was the one who killed this team for years
What's wrong with Ted Nolan?
“I didn’t care at this point I was finally making good money”. Who’s the joke? Milbury is a joke.
Terry Ryan's draft interview with Milbury is priceless.
Milbury just took hits at Monty … I mean he only won 65 games this year … Milbury
He was the primary reason for the Isles turning from one of the most solid organizations in the NHL into a joke that lasted twenty years. Milbury is a piece of crap.
Haha!
LGR!
He's like the Steven Seagal of the NHL
