What a lot of people dont get especially LA fans is that Doughty has been doing this or more to McDavid during and after each whistle yet its considered to be 'just hockey' then. If you call this soft against one team you have to call against both and since they aren't we all damn well know why that is.

Many teams use this tactic, so I am not saying L.A is the guilty party and are losers. However, the sheer AMOUNT of acting going on here is a sight to behold. The players are falling over like in soccer but are doing it like they are going for that Oscar and not for laughs.
The fact that the Edmonton team and fan base are complaining about this really shows how both have lacked a few generations of meaningful playoff play. Last time was a short stint in the Pisani/Pronger era. Before that was Messier. Long time ago.
You can have 2 of the top 3 players in the world on a team, great depth, solid goaltending and defence but you can lose to any team if you play undisciplined hockey

I'm a Kings fan so could be considered biased I suppose….but I liked the call….Draistaitl did is as retaliation for Doughty's Check on McDavid a minute or so earlier…..Good check is a Good check, this going after a player from a Good legal Clean check just because it's a Super Star is getting old in Hockey! McDavid is no doubt best Player in Hockey Right now, but if he puts himself in a situation that a clean check puts him on his backside….that's called hockey, get up and play(which he did)…..just my take based on watching the game at the time….who knows why he really went over and slashed at his leg….bottom line it got called….similar to the Goal to win it …calls can be borderline every game(the human element) replay for a goal crossing the line….all for it….but going back to 20,30,45 seconds and say high stick or offsides…..just too much…..the refs are a part of the game and will miss calls, let it go!
