That’s the point of the trade deadline…. Teams who are making a push for the PLAYOFFS trade assets to acquire proven talent to improve their odds at a cup. Non-playoff teams aren’t going to give up top draft capitol to acquire players.
In regards to MacEachern, it appears this is his first ice time since 2021-22. And it’s his first playoff game this series as well. Not sure if he got in due to Teravainen’s injury or what, but he hasn’t been a player getting constant minutes or points. With this playoff game being an exception and small sample size.
