I wonder if there was something holding back Sammy in Washington or if the change of scenery was what he needed. Caps fans said he would be great for stretches and terrible for others. But this season he’s been great pretty much throughout and only had bad games sprinkled in. He’s been amazing at bouncing back from rough games. What a steal he is. Can’t believe Washington didnt even qualify him.

I love this and I think it’s exactly what Samsonov needs. Don’t put him through the BS our media will ask him and let him keep his head in the game without worrying about answering to reporters after.
I honestly think the crazy media expectations of the Leafs play a major role in our inconsistency issues. I know that I would absolutely hate doing interviews if I was a Leaf and it seems like the media just expects too much, especially in the playoffs. I’d be happy to not hear from anyone but Keefe from here on our it it meant they could focus and crush TB.
