Durzi, because i love hearing his name on the play by play. It sounds like a nickname but it’s not!
What we really need to target are a couple of shutdown defensemen that can PK to play with Hughes and Hronek. Most of these players aren’t that
Honestly, idk if Addison/Bahl/Girard are even close to on the table in trades
I see us going after a pretty decent back up just because of thatchers injury history. And to be honest I think it’s pretty smart?? Any thoughts to add are welcome!
I wonder how much Carlo would cost. Ideal partner for Hughes and his contract isnt an anchor either. If we can find a way to jettison Myers off and Carlo comes at a reasonable price, I think he’d be a good addition to our d core.
Hronek, Carlo, Bear would be much, much improved from the RHDs we’ve had in a while.
Addison is a terrible suggestion. We own this profile in Rathbone and he can’t get into our line up. Addison needs to be the top PP qb, a team like Montreal, Arizona or Chicago could use a player like that.
The only ones that make sense here are Fabbro and Durzi given their team situations and cap hit. How are we going to fit Girard’s $5m??!?
Personally I’d love to see them see if Liljegren is available. He’s had very solid two-way results overall but some rough spots post deadline have him as a healthy scratch in the playoffs, despite playing most of the regular season. If the cost isn’t crazy I think he’d be a big upgrade
I like Carlo, hypothetically. I just worry about how well a “defensive” defence man does removed from a strong defensive environment with the support of 2 way forwards and a dynamite top pairing to handle most duties ahead of him.
Is he a part of that machine or a well suited accessory?
With a low enough cost I’m interested but that seems like a player that costs a premium and the Canucks just spent a premium for Hronek.
This team really needs to just accept that it might take a year to organically let internal solutions appear and let cash expire/get less burdensome and let it happen instead of rushing to cut more corners again and again.
I doubt the kings would want to part with durzi. Hes pretty good. It would be cool if Ottawa has soured on brannstrom and sell low on him. This off season could be fun.
Free agent wise, if the price is right I like Carson Soucy as a target.
Should be significantly cheaper than Gavrikov, but gives you a defensively inclined LHD you feel comfortable playing 16+ mins/night.
Between Soucy & OEL, you should be able to get ~36 decent minutes behind Quinn Hughes.
Just sign Schenn for cheap
