Podcast « Les Oilers remportent l’une de leurs plus grandes victoires » de The Cult of Hockey

Faisons cela!

  1. I’m a Leafs fan. Cause Campbell was a former Leaf, I enjoyed dunking on him all year. He’s had an abysmal regular season. But damn, did I enjoy seeing him shine in the playoffs. Great to see his redemption arc in a the playoffs. He’s a good goalie but he’s very streaky. Oilers fan haven’t really had a chance to see his winning streak but damn good time to start getting hot.

  2. Matthias Ekholm was our best defensemen…..Kulak also had a hell of a game and Bouchard had a great offensive game. Ekholm ALWAYS identifies and neutralizes the dangerous player. What a great job he does of turning his back on the puck on cross ice plays and taking the stick and establishing body position on the potential goal scorer. Hopefully Nurse settles down but I agree this was his worse game of the year. Mental mistakes that if he cleans up … watch out because he has all the tools.

  3. If Nurse doesn’t have the tendency to think and play as a defenceman, how is he a #1 defenceman? He seems to play like a forward.

Fourth Game. LA Dominated in the first period. Skinner pulled and Campbell goes in. Skinner had a really bad night, Campbell had a fantastic one. Two goalies who can win for you, novel concept. Leon would not be denied, 3 point night. Bouchard 3 point night. McDavid 3 point night. Hyman 2 point night including the OT winner. Kane with a goal, Nuge and Ekholm with assists along the way too. Edmonton 2 for 3 on the PP. All tied up 2-2 heading back to Edmonton. Take care all.

  5. Edmonton is still in the mode as a group of having to have their backs to the absolute end of the wall to respond… They are not front runners.

  6. one of the worst 1st periods, followed by one of the best second periods. That game was great. Very evenly matched series

  7. I feel like Soup earned the next start. We'll see what the coach thinks though.

  8. Mistakes in playoffs are amplified because opponents play harder and thereby pounce on opportunities quicker and w more resolve. Nurse’s play and the chances spawned from it are a perfect example of this relationship: he is a liability out there. He is a low IQ hockey player, and the tests will keep on coming. Overall team failure is a distinct possible outcome .

  9. Nurse is gifted athletically no doubt. However, although I have tried to be his biggest fan, in the end he is not a very smart hockey player overall. All one has to do is compare him to a Ekholm and I stated as such last night on Facebook. I don’t see how we can win the cop without better goaltending.

  10. Ekholm, Bouchard, and Kulak were the best D out there by far. I don't have any complaints about Broberg's play but I don't expect much from him yet. Nurse kept making weak backhand passes that would get picked off in his offhand corner when he had the time to turn around and make a play. He was frustrating to watch. Desharnais…that lunge was the worst defensive decision I've seen in a long time on that second goal.
I was worried in the third when the boys came out looking gassed. Even McDavid and Draisaitl were making terrible passes, so I'm glad they picked it up at the end of the third.
Thank god Hyman turned it around. I started saying that he should be benched with all the turnovers he was making at the blueline.
Why the hell was Kostin benched after the first period? Did I miss something?

  11. In most cases nurse is a defensive liability, and yamo should be in the press box.

  12. It's settled, i'm picking up a defibrillator for next game! To regroup after that disastrous first needs to be commended. I would also like to mention two lower ranked players who I thought had amazing games in Ryan and Foegele, and how do you not give props to Jack's performance especially under the circumstances.

  13. Trading nurse would be ideal. We all know it. We can sign 2 defenders with his cap space. However, no chance of that happening as he has a no trade clause.

  14. Go listen to Jack Michaels call on last nights game vs. Harnarayan Singh not sure why Sportsnet doesn't have Jack hired for postseason!

  15. Watching the ESPN feed they rightly completely crucify Nurse on all his horrendous play. Crickets in Canadian Media. He looks terrible

  16. I think for short spurts Draisaitl IS the best player in the NHL. I feel like he goes at 75% in the regular season (pacing himself), and saves his best for the playoffs and we are seeing the benefits of it now.

  17. I know you can’t bench Nurse but his play in this series warrants a lot less ice time, maybe that will be a signal to smarten up, right now he is a liability.

  18. As a Kings fan, this is why I was praying not to match-up against the Oilers in Round 1. This team is lethal, and can explode at anytime. I would of rather drawn Vegas, or Colorado. The Oilers are 9n a mission, and know their prime is right now, and they are playing 110 percent at all times. The Kings aren't used to playing with a multiple goal lead, and boy did that show. If there is a positive here for us, maybe Skinner is rattled a bit. I feel like we're headed for a repeat of last year's results. Beating the Oilers twice in Edmonton is NOT a bet I would make even if I had all the $ in the world.

  19. Nurse needs to go back to foosball style defence theory. Imagine you and your partner are stuck on a stick like in foosball. He goes to the corner? you go in front of the net. You go to the corner? He goes to the front. It's probably too simple to be optimal but it's going to work better than what he's doing and it's something you can have a s a framework in your head. LOOK FOR LOOSE ATTACKERS! Face them, and play them, FFS.

  20. The Cult of Hockey podcast..great job as always David and Bruuuiiissssse😅 10 out of 10 ! Enjoy your takes on the games.

  21. Oilers management should think of a way to trade Nurse even with no trade clause. He is more of a liability than of an asset.. it makes Oilers fans frustrated when he is playing like a minor league player like he is still learning how to play better hockey…

  22. The production quality is one of my favorite parts don't ever change!
David, who forgets their power cord?

  23. Bouchards agent is smiling like a butchers dog. Hopefully we can lock him up for 8yrs in the summer
