ITS NHL HOCKEY WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFFS BRO ALL AGRESSION NO FLOPS !!!
Should’ve been no call that’s clean
He turns last second. 2 minutes max
The guy turns into it. He keeps going forward, it's a clean hit. Hope the Canes player is ok more than anything.
Now show parises "goaltender interference" and barzys "embellishment"
100% correct call
Boarding. Wow, amazing to see that penalty being applied. Boarding was included as a penalty to minimise contact, particularly contact that may lead to injury.
But in the late 60s, attitudes changed to ‘take the man’ rather than attempt to take the puck. This led to the monstrosities like Philadelphia’s Dave Schulz and his ilk. Shultz, who was bereft of the following skills: skating, stick handling, passing and shooting. He was on the ice to act as a thug.
In the ‘72 Canada v Russia series we saw what quality skating, stick handling, passing and shooting looked like. It was beautiful and Russia won the first game convincingly. Canada resorted to physicality rather than skills to win the series. That included Bobby Clark hacking at Kharlamov’s (Russia’s most talented player) ankle in order to injure him and it got the result he wanted as Kharlamov missed the last few games.
Boarding was useful. Also ‘interference’. Interfering or impeding a player who doesn’t have possession of the puck. This happens ALL THE TIME, but is never called. It slows the game down dramatically. Is there a statistic indicating how many times ‘boarding’ and ‘interference’ have been called as penalties over the last few years?
The penalised player made NO ATTEMPT to take the puck from the injured player. He slammed him into the boards with the intention to harm or intimidate him. This happens ALL THE TIME in various degrees of viciousness. It’s crazy as it slows down the game and promotes brawn and thuggishness over hockey skills. “I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out” – ain’t it the truth.
For what food we in this year it's pansies
100% right call. Guy turned after islanders player dropped his shoulder to lay the hit.
Last second turning his back. Correct call. Refs gotta call the gesture not the consequences…
Turned into it last second, he caused it himself
Rightfully so. He knows the contact is there and he turns to avoid it. Can't blame the dman one bit actually I don't think it should even be a minor…
Thats not a minor cmon
The responsibility is on the puck holder in this case! Dont stay 1 meter from the boards, and dont turn your back on the dude hitting you, thats just stupid!
I like the call, gotta protect the head
Bull, should have been a major
Look at Maroons hit on McCabe. That somehow wasn’t a penalty at all.
I was very mad in the moment, but it was the right call, Drury turned at the very last moment which caused most of the damage. I hope Drury is good to go for tomorrow though
He caused it to be that bad
Watch the no call on Maron on McCabe with tampa vs toronto, 5his will make sense
