I know the wings have a large Swedish fan base this must be really cool for them. Excited to watch some morning/afternoon hockey. Definitely cool for all our Swedes as well.

I remember the game in Sweden in 2009.

Looks like I’m going to Sweden!

Man, I wish I hadn’t already allocated all my vacation days this year. Would love to go to this! Hopefully there’s a « next time » so I can tag along!

That’s so cool for the Wings, and all our Swedish friends. I remember having a poster as a kid that said « How Swede it is! » It featured Zetterberg, Lindstrom, Kronwall, Holmstrom, Ericsson, and a few other guys.

I like the Europe games the NHL is doing personally, and if there’s one country I’m totally cool with the Wings losing a home game to, it’s Sweden.

Really cool that Swedish Wings fans will get to watch us and all our Swedes play against William Nylander too, I’ve heard he’s a fan favorite there.

Great way for the NHL to showcase Bedard wearing the winged wheel in Sweden

Should have been the sabres instead of the leafs or sens so we could have had Swedish buffalo wild wings.

Don’t see how the average person over here is supposed to catch these unless they take the day off. And even then, if you live in the western US aren’t you going to have to get up at 6 AM or something?

Pretty awesome there is an Avicii Arena

Someone in the Twitter replies mention that the leafs play a team coming off a back to back both times and don’t play one themselves lol. Bad luck for Detroit and Minnesota I guess

This is amazing news! I was recently speaking with a friend that the Wings should come to Sweden since the connection they have with the country. And now they are actually doing it.

Looks like I am flying/driving from the Netherlands to Stockholm!

Practically home games for us, haha.

Not a fan of the NFL games in Europe stuff, but this is very cool and rings different. Hockey is a much more global game with people from the host country actually playing in the league. Excited to see how it turns out

  15. Wasn’t able to get tickets the last time the wings came to Sweden. Will be trying for both games, wish me luck!

Interesting schedule not having us play the Wild and the Leafs not playing the Senators.

This must be the plan to help Buchelnikov defect from the evil Putin

    Calendar marked… gonna be awesome

I love the comments on The Score app (I know I shouldn’t be), of people asking “why?????”.

    1. I don’t see any harm in the NHL expanding the market to other countries.

    2. Especially when one of those countries is Sweden who loves hockey, and as far as I’m concerned, the Red Wings.

If I understand this correctly, this leaves one home game vs. TOR and two home games vs. OTT for the 2023-2024 season.

It’s kind of a bummer to give up an O6 match-up, but it is also annoying to hear « Go Leafs, Go » in LCA, so I’m okay with this scenario.
