It’s not over but man it just doesn’t look like we want it. Maybe injuries, motivation, poor play. Either way this years playoff team is a ghost of last years.
Step one: remove your heads from your keisters.
Too many pieces lost from last years' Cup run. Tonight, if Val and Cale were playing…maybe it could have helped.

Id never count em totally out-they COULD win 1 road game.They do have the heart of champions,& proved incredible resilience to even make the playoffs,despite being the most injured deffending champ in like 3 decades.Part is Mcfarland,& company not doing enough at the deadline,(as many of us said at the time),some of it is the black hole that is our bottom 6,(massive underachieving Newhook is exhibit A),alot is credit to Seattle-but lets be honest-most of it is getting their season pissed on by the unfair hockey gods.
I mean between injuries,& absences this yr-Nuke is gone cuz of "personal problems" I wont mention,as I work there. But personal issues that many in society experience-including myself-I hope he gets it straight for him,& his family. Avs just have had rotten luck,& seem like a tired,beat up team-mentally,& physically. Give Seattle credit,but bad thing is-Grubauer isnt even an average-let akone good starting nhl goalie. But you give him leads in every game,block a bunch of shots,& the Avs just havent tested him near enough-even below average goalies can hang in there.
Whatever happens Friday,& maybe Sunday-I dont think they will get by the 2nd round vs a much more experienced Dallas or Minny-both of whom have far better goalies. And I know the Pavelski deal,but Dallas has lived a totally charmed injury season-only like 80 total man games lost-f%$k off lucky bastards. I still have hope we win Friday…if I had to bet-I think we win game 6-then lose game 7. NHL did us no favors either. Im fine in a vacuum with Makars suspension-IF they were consistent,& held everybody to the same standards-we know they dont. Paros was a thug when he played,& basically seems to protect the thugs. Guys with far worse hits,& far worse histories get off scott free. At least the nba is smart enough to protect,& favor the stars-the nhl seems to do the opposite for some unknown reason.
But if this ends this weekend as I suspect it will-Im pulling for the Edmonton-LA winner to win the west,& the east champ to smoke whoever wins the west.(NYR I predicted) Maybe we need a long summer,& ya figure youll get better luck from the hockey gods next yr-it couldnt be worse . And mark my words,whoever plays Seattle next round-will light fraudulent Grubauer up.Avs just dont have much left,especially when your bottom 6 couldnt score if the net was empty all game. And ya got guys like Newhook-with no confidence,& therefore are badly underachieving-all season for him.Imagine some thought hed be the new 2c-thars laughable today. Longterm I have hope for him still-but right now hes a disaster.

Exactly as he said, if you’ve watched this Avs team at all this year you know they haven’t played near their best yet in this series. We do that and we push it to 7 and hopefully further. We play like we did tonight and we go quietly into the night. But we got this, let’s play some Avs hockey in game 6. And dear god, shoot the damn puck and stop looking for a million passes.
Mikko and JT need to switch sides when they're running that power play. It will free them both up for one-timers. Either that or take JT off that power play. What are they doing? Nate is skating in circles with no one to pass to.
Also quit passing and shoot the puck. You guys are being way too cute. Put the puck on net.
