What a great move by Fitzgerald to bring him in. He brought in Palat, Smith, and Lazar for this experience and it’s nice that 2/3 are actually helping the team.

Didn’t really feel anything about this deadline acquisition but this guy has been rock solid on the 4th line. Seems to also have a great personality and locker room guy. He might not show up on the scorecard but he does all those small things right. In a tight series we need exactly that as opposed to someone who will take dumb penalties in our offensive zone. Great addition by Fitzy as per usual!
Why didn’t he play from game one? I thought the reason why they brought him in was to be a good physical presence for the playoffs?
They essentially brought him in as Wood’s replacement…apparently Wood’s hip has been bothering him most of the season and they weren’t sure if he’d make it this long. He pretty much played himself out of a job anyway.
And Lazar still has years left on his contract for cheap.
I love hearing him talk in interviews. Such a cool down to east guy who obviously loves his job and knows his role. The dudes energy is great and I’m so happy we brought him in.
