Game 7 incoming
I’m getting to the point where I’m pissed off because as fans, we deserve waaaay better than what this team has given us this postseason. They don’t look like they even want to be in the game. No one seems to want to make any effort! How is it that the worst hockey we have played all year is during the only time it actually matters? Even if the Avs some how skate by the Kraken, the road stops there. We can’t beat the Stars or the Wild in this state.
Sound Check: No Desire – Jack & The Rippers.
I got no time for a team with no desire.
It's not over yet, but it's over. Seattle is the better team. Time is face reality. This Avalanche team is not close to last years team. I find it interesting that the two teams in last years final are now facing elimination.
Byram in a lot of games to me throws a lot on net for next to no value. He is just shooting to shoot when often a pass would have been a better call. He doesn't have the hands he thinks he does. He has to pass the puck more.
14:16 I felt the same way! Nate cost the team and he knows it. I still believe these guys can get it done – Avs in seven!
Soundcheck: looked for a tune called "Steaming Wet Fart", couldn't find it.
Nothing but love for my Avs, but…rut row….. A watered down roster, no help from any rookie this year, no (or very little) help from any new guy this year, guys are STILL injured, Landy's loss is deeper than just his on-ice contributions, and for $h$ts and giggles, lets throw in the Nueshy issue and Makar suspension, My word, mental exhaustion….frustration…. See you next year boys. Get healthy, get some help for the roster, and lets go at it next year…
Honestly shaggy, I thought it was only me. I founded the Avs stick checking a little too much, and the Kraken were able to turn and get better body position to buy seconds to hand off to another teammate. I believe if there were little bumps or pushes to disrupt Kraken players, their zone time would be so inferior. In the Kraken end, it's like its one and done, Avs players are tied up, and then it's going the other way. And we wonder why it seems they got more energy. Towes hand eye coordination is probably the best in the league, but we don't have roster full of Towes to check this way. The slight bumps and slight interference will create more time and space to create plays, especially in defense of zone
😥
If lose, which shouldn't happen, would make last so much special. Give players and fans a break from what was short summer in 2022. However, does it affect the stock on current players looking for new contracts that the Avs may get a better deal?
Disappointing game 5 – Hoping with the return of Makar we can force a game 7 making it a toss up at home. Good stuff guys
The Kraken aren't necessarily the better team, the Avs are just straight-up gassed, man. They fought so hard all season and they just don't have any more left in the tank. It's clear just how much Landeskog means to this team. He is the soul of the Avs. I'd even argue that losing Kadri in the offseason hurt them a lot too, though he had a pretty down year in Calgary, I feel he was the heart of the Avs team last year.
I hope to be proven wrong, but I think this is it boyos. And even if it is, you still can't deny they did their damnedest and that's something we as fans can be proud of. There needs to be a pretty substantial retooling in the offseason especially if they lose tomorrow.
I was going to put up "Down In A Hole" by Alice in Chains but I'm thinking Jackson Browne's "Running On Empty" is more appropriate.
Just going to throw this out there. The Kraken are also missing their top 2 players andre burakovsky and Jared McCann.
Idk what happened after the season ended but we aren’t playing good enough. If we get first rounded after winning the cup its a little embarrassing but we still have a cup. 3 time champs 🏆🏆🏆
I told my wife last year that we were spoiled as first time season ticket holders, and they win a cup. I was right. Good job winning the Central; that’s a positive. They need retooling. I would say they need the ability to be more physical. I’ll also say that they need more offense. I never thought I’d say that after last season, but beyond Mikko and Nate, they are pretty average. I fear that last year was just special, and it’ll just be a grind now. I was really hoping that the salary cap would go up, but it’s only gonna go up a million. Furthermore, Nate’s contract kicks in. We might have pretty average hockey, unfortunately.
I need a drink , oh wait to soon 😂😂😂
That had to have been the most frustrating game I've ever seen. Bad pass bad pass after bad pass. Then dump and chase dump and chase dump and chase. I wonder that's always Seattle's game. What boring hockey to have to watch all the time.
Glad there was no eye injury for Shaggy
The injuries and the Makar suspension have hurt the Avs but the Kraken are shockingly good even without the marquee names.
I read somewhere that Seattle is kind of like Carolina and I can definitely see it what with Ron Francis and their organizational philosophy and all. Both of those teams also have shaky goaltending so that's how you have to beat them.
The odds that Mccann's replacement becomes the first player since Makar to score while making his NHL debut in the playoffs, has to be Powerball levels of unlikely.
Great show as always boys
IMHO the Avs played fine in game 1. Games 2-4 were just OK. And now, the Kraken's defense has really started to frustrate them. I hated to see McKinnon engaging the refs (which he needs to do in general) while the play is still going on. The Kraken should be given full credit for pulling together too. But the worst part is that it seems like the Nichishkin situation has put a cloud over the team. Also, I'm so done with ESPN that I'm thinking about quitting watching sports. Every time the playoffs roll around, we have to watch garbage announcers who don't know the teams well, terrible production (few replays, bad sound at times, and they can't even match timing when they switch camera angles) and often missing several minutes of game time because of scheduling.
