Rebuild…? Didn't they already try that?
In my opinion the thing that makes or breaks this season is the lottery. With how stripped down our team is if we don’t get Bedard we don’t contend for a LONG time.

I wonder if they'll tank again next season as well, even if they draft CB; in this day and age you need a true 1-2 punch. Just like they did with Kane-Toews.
The Seth Jones contract will hurt less as the cap increases.
i lost alot of respect towards the blackhawks franchise and their owners.
the Toews-Kane era is over so now they can stare at thoses banners for the next 50 years. i really hope Bedard lands in California and not in Chicago, they don't deserve him.
Seth Jones had a rough year? He was great, especially from mid-December on. Eye test and advanced stats both agree on that. Not sure where you got that he was bad this year from, unless you just mean pure point production, but that's really not on him
I think Luke Richardson did an underrated job with some of the roster this season, just dealt a poor hand. I think he could easily have them in a wildcard spot within 2 seasons honestly

Sam Rinzel plays for my hometown team in Waterloo, and he is one of the smoothest skaters I've seen in a long time. He will be a good PP2 and top 4 defensemen after his time in college. I could easily see him making the roster in 2025-2026 team.
Chicago Blackhawks I can see Getting Bedard over Sharks or Ducks as they are Original Six. They freed up 21Million on washed up Toews and Kane. Rangers thought they got a good deal when leading DEvils 2 games Nill. Until Schmid or so showed them Marty Brodeur will finally be replicated hehe. SEriously guy has like best 3 games Playoff of anybody ever in NHL when seemed like it was over 5 to 1 like The Doors song. Seth Jones was carried by Werenski but they wanna push Agenda in NHL so PK Subban goes from Norris to Announcing. Won that Gold Medal as Healthy Scratch By Babs. Easier to have one bad Equity Contract instead of two. Though tough to hide a guy on blue line. New Jersey really excelled without Subban for a reason :).
I can't imagine any team offering Kane or Toews or Domi much money for a contract next year, and I would bring them back (of all people, Shannon should appreciate how many jerseys they sell) at reasonable salaries and keep Athanask?de%wou, (you know who I mean), and have this handful of veteran forwards, mentor the young forwards. Make it clear that the veterans are there to help the young guys usher in the next generation. I'd keep three veteran defensemen and let them mentor three or four young defensemen. Seth Jones played very well the last half of the season and his greatest fault was trying to do too much. Once he realized that there was nothing he could do to get the team to the playoffs, he settled down and just played hockey. Richardson did a great job with third and fourth line talent. What he can to with better talent, who knows. The Hawks played with a lot of effort, and late season victories over Calgary and Pittsburgh were largely responsible for them not making the playoffs. Among the young guys, Reichel and Guttman both looked really good.
I hope and pray to every god imaginable that the Blackhawks stay far far far far away from Bedard or Fantilli or even Carlsson.
And this isn’t just sour grapes because I am a Nashville fan, no this has more to do with the fact that it’s god damn embarrassing the league came down so hard on Arizona and New Jersey costing them draft picks meanwhile Chicago covers up a whole ass sexual scandal, recommends a sex offender to coach college (where he abuses again), and calls their own teammate a f***ot.
If that wasn’t enough when asked how they would make it right they replied with “we’re keeping that in the room”
Refreshing after years of stanbo to finally have a competent gm at the helm. Would much rather be awful like this and get some top prospects than be mediocre for a decade like the canucks for example. also love richardson as a coach for this team

Chicago needs to take its time and build up a lot of young prospects, but they'll get there.
Blackhawks have a bright future and will be good again. They have a lot of young players coming up and a lot of draft picks. I'd say 2 to 3 years they will be back in the playoffs.
Like the new coach and gm, future is bright
They need a full rebuild, if they get Bedard it would be the starting point
