  1. Not a dirty hit, 20 of those every game, ref looking right at it. Leafs lucky to get pp out of that

  2. Ref right there see’s no problem ,the idiot 100 feet away calls it !

  3. This is a clean hit and there is 3 main points of proof

    1. The Ref sitting 5 feet away didn’t even move to blow the whistle

    2. When watching the replay you can see that it is more shoulder to shoulder.

    3. They called a roughing not a boarding, realizing they made a bad call but still gave them a penalty.

  4. Awesome….Mcgoon now lets the dogs out. Simmer will deal with him when the time is right, MARK MY WORDS!

  5. Rule 7.2: "The severity of the penalty will be based upon the degree of violence of the player’s impact with the boards. There is a considerable amount of judgment involved in the application of this rule by the Referees. The duty is on the Player applying the check to ensure their opponent is not in a defenseless position and if so, they must avoid or minimize contact. However, in determining whether such contact could have been avoided, the circumstances of the check, including whether the opponent put themself in a vulnerable position immediately prior to or simultaneously with the check or whether the check was unavoidable may be considered." Maroon fully is aware Gio has his back to him before Gio even gets the puck. It's not like Gio was facing him directly leading up to the hit. Gio also turns slightly more to his side to prevent an even more from behind hit. Ya'll need to learn the rules

  6. Sure looked like a clean hit, he hit him from the side not from behind, he didn't leave his feet the referee looking right at the play 3 feet away didn't call the penalty, terrible call.

  7. He should have been suspended the game in overtime but no call then last night Reff was 4 ft from the hit he should have called but the other Reff must have called it should have been a 5 bot no

  8. Had this exact play happened in reverse Leaf fans would be so damn upset and butthurt. This was the weakest roughing call I have seen all year.

  9. Can someone explain how bunting earns a 3 game suspension for an open ice hit and this yahoo gets nothing for a hit from behind into the boards. The nhl needs to wake up.
