Sad for their goalie, bad way/goal to end it.
Paul's father scored a goal in OT in 1987 to help the Quebec Nordiques to eliminate the Hartford Whalers (now the Hurricanes).

OMG, what a horrible OT goal. Feel bad for the Islanders. Weak shot from an impossible angle. Unfortunately, the fact is, Sorokin wasn't paying attention. He was looking around and for some reason was distracted. If Sorokin was focused on the play or the shooter that weak shot would have never gone in. Terrible how it had to end on a stupid flukey shot like that.
As a canuck fan it's good to see Horvat earn his pay

I feel bad for sorokin. Dudes an elite goaltender but isles need to add another top 6 forward to get taken seriously. The coach needs to balance the team instead of playing a defensive 1st mindset.

So back in the day, I was an enormous Islanders fan, I'm talking Nystrom, Tonneli, Bossy, Trottier, etc.
I still have my Islanders Jersey with Nystrom's name and number on it.
I can barely skate, I've played floor hockey maybe twice, however, I do come from a hockey family, have been watching for a long time and love the sport.
What I witnessed tonight, with the exception of Sorokin, was a team that played frenetically. They had more than a few beautiful opportunities, but blew it…each time. They played like rookies and the better team won.
so how's Hovat working out for you guys lol
