    what an awful goal to go out on. they played their hearts out, tried to fight back, but in a fashion true to the whole series it just took a few mistakes for the puck to end up in the net.

    That’s gotta hurt! Not the type of goal you wanna see go in to end your season. Especially on a guy like sorokin, on Anderson I could fully understand 😂

    Thank you so much Hurricanes! I am so happy about this! Now I know that when the Rangers lose tomorrow (and I said when, not if), I'll at least be happy to know that we have outlasted the Islanders! Carolina, it is a shame we won't face you in the 2nd round, but thank you for eliminating the Islanders.

    Reminds me of how the Dallas Stars lost their playoff series last year both bad angle shots (except here it was a shot Sorokin should save).

    Stastny did what I expected Parise and Palmieri to do.

    And the Canes have more killer instinct than the Bruins. Wowie zowie.

    If you look at 2:42, you can see where Sororkin expects the shot to go…the gap between him and the post. So Sororkin is careful to completely close the gap with the the post; he's leaning hard against the post, actually, using his other leg for leverage, which is now immobile as a result. And that's exactly why Stastny chose to rebound the puck off THAT leg to get it in. Brilliant goal.

    This is why i hate the reverse vertical horizontal, yes its rare but it gives up way more space for no angle goals than the basic VH. Five hole and right above your pad always have a smidgen of space
