That's what I always thought about Karlsson. Players don't just suddenly get so good all of a sudden, there's always a reason behind it. Meier did the same during his contract years and this year when he was looking to be traded.
Winnipeg has no need for more scoring. Kyle Connor for example is negative in +/- , so for all his goals, he still can't keep them out of his own net. Loosing while getting 5 goals is still a loss, winning 1-0 is still a win.
As a sens fan i would gladly do debrincat for Helly… but i am betting it would be contingent on debricst signing an extension and i doubt he'll want to do that in winnipeg is sheifle wheeler and dubois are gone this summer
I'm a sens fan, and i would be happy to trade cat for Helle, Cat can be replaced by batherson and we need a goalkeeper desperatly.
Hellebuyuk is a top 4 or 5 goalie in the NHL. The Jets would expect and need a return that would be in alignment with that. DeBrincat would be just 1 of the pieces coming to Winnipeg. But 2 other high-end pieces would also be required for such an elite goalie (assuming he's coming with an extension).
jets do not need another smaller winger. We have Perfetti, Connor and Ehlers. We need centres.
