GG finally did what i wanted him to all along. Split the kid line and put Kane with other puck retreivers. This line balance gives the rangers threats on all lines and tonight that showed. There are atleast two puck scroungers and 1 play maker on the top 3 lines.

I love this man.
That was one of the best goaltending performances I’ve seen in a very long time. For the Devils to have nothing for practically skating us out of our own building in the 1st period must have been demoralizing. Not even a deserved 2-0 lead but a tie game on a last minute goal? Major ouch.

Home ice doesn’t matter in a game 7. We beat the caps 5-0 on the road in 2013 in game 7. Least stressful game 7 ever.
Most of the Devils haven’t played in a game 7. It’s a different beast. Hoping they have the same jitters they had in game 1.

I’m not sure what Ferraro is smoking saying this was our best game. Not even close. That was game 2 by far, then game 1 and then this one. IMO the biggest difference this game vs say game 3 is getting timely saves, getting good bounces, and just sticking with it. These games are so tight right now and goalies have been playing well, you just can’t break down and need to get some good plays to score.
The devils are a really good team, but the best thing we did this game was just being patient, staying disciplined defensively, and not breaking down. Igor will shut the door and we just gotta capitalize on chances.
Goodrow played maybe his best game as a ranger game 1 but gave up another awful “where’s my guy?” goal this game that he’s been guilty of many many times in the reg season.
Credit to GG putting vladi up. Kane is not the guy in such a tight checking series (pls prove me wrong game 7).
I think patience and experience got us to Game 7. Igor will do his part, stars will shine game 7!

The Rangers are fun to watch.

* John « Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh » Brancy led us in a ROUSING National Anthem to kick things off. This crowd is HOT and it was the best singalong I’ve been part of since Billy Joel doing Piano Man at a concert in 2018.
* Friend couldn’t make it at the last minute, so cheers to Tom from Chicago for buying the ticket online and enjoying this game with me. I learned a lot about the Blackhawks, the White Sox, and more. Great times.
* Also, didn’t catch a name but cheers to the absolute MADLAD in the Kreider jersey who nearly bowled me over celebrating our first goal! (More on that later)
* First period the boys were fighting for it. Good zone time, ok attempts but not getting enough on goal.
* But still, *too much passing!* And too many blown passes. Thankfully there were plenty on both sides.
* Someone blew a defensive assignment on that Devils goal. Was it Miller? I think it might have been. Maybe that makes him more affordable next season… Still have hope in him overall.
* I will say, No Quit In NY is still a thing. They didn’t fold after the goal and neither did the crowd. Good on everyone.
* That Kane trip should have been a penalty shot. ABSOLUTELY should have been, but consistency is a foreign topic in the NHL.
* BUT WHO CARES BECAUSE CHRISTOPHER JAMES KREIDER CAME THROUGH! Beautiful tip in a vintage Kreider does. We need MOAR!
* Power play to start the second was solid, good zone time. Following power play, not so much. I don’t know if it was PP1 being still relatively winded or the Devils catching on, but it was a disappointment.
* Honestly, I missed what got Trocheck that penalty, but we gave the ref a GOOD « Asshole! »chant. Tom informed me that they do not have that in Chicago (apparently they are more mild mannered than we are).

Rangers absolutely love game 7s so they did the stressful thing by blowing a 2-0 lead and then wining this one to push to game 7. It’s perfect.
Chris Kreider won this game for them (Igor too). Rangers desperately needed that first goal going into the first intermission. Kreider might be inconsistent but I can’t even count the number of times he’s singlehandedly saved the rangers from elimination.
Feels like it was just yesterday when he scored that game-tying goal against the caps when the rangers were a minute away from being eliminated in 2015. He gives this team life when they need it.
I’m happy we won but god this team is fucking frustrating to deal with.
Lose Monday, and the only good thing I can say is well at least we didn’t roll over and die 4 straight like last year.
Win Monday, and I’ll be ecstatic to be moving on especially with Boston being exposed, but the absolute no-show shit we saw in games 3-5 isn’t going to be completely cleared out of my head and I’m going to be wondering where the fuck 1-2 and 6-7 Rangers were.
