#nhl #hockey #highlights #nhlplayoffs #seattlekraken #coloradoavalanche

These shorts are great and your logic is spot on! What the heck?
As a Kraken fan and hockey enthusiast it feels terrible that they went with such inconsistent choices made here. Eberle should've got at least the same one game misconduct. Such a hit is terrifying and could've went so much worse…
This should be at least 2 games. Officiating and DoPS are absolutes jokes.
-Dallas fan.
Eberle better be ready to knuckle up.
That is literally a life-threatening injury. Broken necks can absolutely kill someone.
Cogliano has suffered a fractured neck.
The silence from Kraken fans is DEAFENING. Not a freakin peep!
It's the teachings, one that turns his back to an oncoming player is one big no no, knowing your gonna get hit to turning your back to receive a hit? Which you gonna play the puck or the player? Lmfao it's a coward move in my books. See it all to often then one cries. The makar hit should of been at least two games.
1. He had the puke
2. He put his head down, not the hitter. You cant blame the hitter for that
3. Even if the hitter saw that his head was down … Where would you want to him to go??
The reffing and the DOPS are a joker this year! Where do they find these goofs?
DoPS has been a joke for years. There is no consistency at all.
Avs will let the bodies hit the floor, I promise. Theres a Kraken player that won't be finishing this game.
The refs wont call a good game and imo are losing control of these games. Time to regulate
Defenceless not defensive
I agree that intent isn’t everything. There needs to be some player responsibility. I’d argue players know best if they are hitting a vulnerable player. Accidents will happen, but it shouldn’t be just the perceived intent of a player.
In rugby, there is a law if you take a player off his feet, you are responsible for getting him to the ground safely. If you drop a player, accidentally or not, it’s a penalty and the player is sent off/ejected.
I know it's not fashionable to talk about the panthers but how about the hit to the head on Bennet put him out for four games or the hit to eckblad or Ryan longberg with a crosscheck to the face and he is still out .no fines ,no suspensions and in some cases not even a call on the ice .absolutely disgusting.now I will be fair and say that game six was the best officiated one of the series .I just hope that will continue.
Disgrace to hockey
Now that a five game suspension
As a Kraken fan after the broadcast replayed the hit I thought eberle was going to get 5 and a three game suspension. DoPS thinks that’s actually a minor but the Makar hit wasn’t.
Broke his neck and sat for 2 min. No review. What a joke.
I don't like the Avs but that hit was dogshit and the league has become so inconsistent it's ridiculous.
Makar getting one game suspension is at least reasonably debatable by both sides.. an honest debate about Eberle would be one to three game suspension.
But not having any suspension is a complete joke.
Disgusting player #7 Should get suspended for Cogliano hit For fractured neck. It seems they need to get even by hurting our players. This could of been very serious to his life. PCW 🏥
It makes no sense honestly, it's like they're rolling a slot machine to decide how many games they want to suspend people
Everything is rigged from head to toe
HE HAS A FRACTURED FUCKING NECK!!!! I just hope we put in MacDermid and handle business. I don't even care if we win I just want Eberle to not skate off the ice
The game has gotten more dangerous with the arrival of helmets. Can't make them illegal, but they should restrict a helmeted player's salary to $100K.
Unfortunately, NHL officiating is not consistent and in the playoffs it is worse. Some referees call few or less penalties in the playoffs and even none in the third period or overtime. It is very frustrating to watch a referee watch an obvious plenty but lets it go and it results in a good chance or goal at the other end. Referees are very important to the game of hockey, but the NHL must needs to establish consistency in penalty calling, fines, and suspensions. The result of the two minute interference call was a fractured neck and the Colorado Avalanche losing the player for most likely the rest of the playoffs. 😡 Steve
They aren’t trying to set any standards they have no rules to follow the juts throw a dart at a board and take whatever they get
We all saw Point get pushed into the boards and the NHL take away the penalty entirely. They have their favored teams and that's all they care about.
Bring back enforcers and you wouldn't need the dops
Cogliano shouldn't have re-entered the game. Because of this, I'm sure the DoPS looked at it as nothing serious. Also the refs should've called this a major so they could review it, which they didn't. If fracturing a players neck because of an illegal hit doesn't warrant a suspension, then nothing does. Game 7 goes to OT and Eberle gets the winning goal. Has to happen, because I can feel it before it does.
It's simple cagliano's not a star player and he didn't embellish the injury on the ice.
That hit was clearly boarding and the Avs player is very lucky that he isn’t paralyzed from the neck, down.
How long after an offense does DoPS have to announce disciplinary hearings? Maybe news is still forthcoming today?
Man this is a moronic take. Eberle a hit does not deserve a suspension. A bad injury does not a suspension make. Bad hit, not a suspension hit. DoPS did the right thing here. Legal player to be hit it’s just vanilla boarding.
I don't agree, Cogliano turned towards the boards when he knew a player from the other team was behind him. He is as responsible as the Kraken player
George Parros is in charge of dishing fines and suspensions. If you know of his career, he is a goon. He probably asks himself would I suspend myself in these scenarios and it's always a fine nowadays haha
Cogliano and Eberle used to be team mates, I do think it was intentional at all. I just don't think Eberle was thinking which is sad and can be dangerous
Makar takes McCann out for the year and now we have to hear about how unfair Dops is after no suspension for ebes. Karma is real B!tch isn’t it. Makar started all this, remember that, and you all downplayed that dirty malicious hit that ended McCann season, Seattle’s top goal scorer. If you think Seattle is done just wait.
I hope the Avs show player safety if they don't do their jobs the players will take it into their own hands. A neck for a neck boys. Fuck them up.
you said a “defensive player”…do you mean “defenseless player”? not trying to nitpick and no shade, i’m just not sure if i’m misunderstanding what you’re trying to say. love the vids
Easily could have paralyzed him, which would be hell for the NHL. Should’ve been game misconduct + 10 games at least
Agreed. Need a standard. Bunting got 3 games. Schiefele got 4 games for the most disgusting charge in NHL history.
its funny the Seattle Krackheads look like the fans who support em 😂 lamest team in the NHL get em Avs!!!!
Wtf does he have his head down like for like he doesn't think anyone is going to bother him? The saying "head on a swivel" comes to mind and the Kraken guy didn't seem to hit him that hard. Dude was just in an awkward position
Everytime i hear that this is the type of hit the nhl is trying to get outta the game, its followed up by some asinine reason why the nhl doesnt get rid of it….
If the nhl really did want this type of hit out of the game, it would already be gone…
