Probably a better matchup for us stylistically. The Panthers are going to give us issues but I think we can take advantage of some of their worse players.
Either way, I think I celebrated the OT winner vs Boston more than I did the Leafs’ goal last night. You’ve got to love the underdog coming back and beating the heavily favoured team. With that being said, we cannot take the Panthers lightly as they have their own storyline and are very motivated.
First time in history this series is happening between these two teams and it’s two teams that went through hell and back in order to get to this point. Literally throughout the entire 2010s and late 2000s the Panthers and Leafs were absolutely awful on the ice but now they are both here and in the fight. Let’s do this TORONTO!!!!! GLG

I’m feeling good about this upcoming series. I don’t think I could’ve handled the Bruins. As much as I would’ve liked to see the Leafs beat Boston, I’m far happier to see them out in the first round and not have to deal with the stress of playing them.
That being said, I think we’ll play fairly strongly against Florida. Leafs have finally made it out the first round. I hope this brings them motivation and encouragement and they use that energy to win this series. As long as they play to win, play smart, and remember they deserve to be where they’re at in the playoffs, we can give Florida a good run. I don’t want to see any lazy hockey from our boys in blue. LFG!!!
