@Avalanche du Colorado

1. I'm a Bruins fan but I also root for the Avs so this was one of the worst days I can ever remember as a hockey fan.

  2. Crazy close series that could have gone either way & both teams deserve much respect. As a Kraken fan I humbly invite you all to be a Kraken fan if only to their seasons end. I have learned as a Seahawk fan it always stings a little less if the team that knocks you out does well in the playoffs & verifies you were beat by a solid squad.

  3. This is going to sound terrible but i was almost relieved at the end, this nightmare of a season is finally over. There just wasnt any good breaks all year and even if they survived this game it was only going to get worse. Now they have a full off-season to rest and hopefully Sakic and McFarland can make some moves to add some scoring punch to the middle 6

  4. "Black Flag" – King's X. More like Black Monday. I think I will just let this settle in before I comment on anything. Love you guys and love your show. SDMF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. In the playoffs ANYTHING can happen. There are always upsets, especially in the first round.

  6. A huge thank you for following along with us during this crazy season. But it doesn't stop for us! We still have a lot to cover during the off-season including player grades, the draft and free agency. So the shows will go on and we hope you continue to follow along with us! Thank you again!

  7. The cursed season is over. Its only fitting that the Avs would have a goal called back on an offsides play in a game 7. The Avs got no luck, had to fight for every win. Best of luck to you Seattle, you are going to need it. Dallas isn't a heavily injured Avs team. NHL officiating and the DPS can go suck a duck.

  8. Congrats to Gruby and the Kraken. It’s been a crazy hockey season. Still proud to be an Avs fan! Keep up the good work Chris & Kyle 🤘

  9. What a strange year. It never felt fun. Even going to games was,”Meh.” As someone said on a postgame show last night, it was like you were always waiting for something else to happen. I absolutely hate excuses, but there was no way they were even going to the WCF. They just are not deep enough. The young guys were given every opportunity, and they failed miserably.

  10. Thanks Chris and Kyle. I've enjoyed your commentary this year. If I may say, Nichushkin may have made a difference in the outcome had he been on the ice. He wasn't, and for reasons that we will probably never know. For a player that makes $6 million a year he needs to be out there helping his team win games, unless injured, of course. This team has been cursed all year because of injuries, personal problems, etc. I'm amazed that they got as far as they did.

  11. Even the St. Louis Blues likely would have beaten the Avs last season with Jordan Binnington standing on his head until the Kadri incident. A hot goalie in a short series makes these upsets possible. Grubauer made the difference with some luck but he sure was clicking. I saw the same thing with Binnington in the Boston series in 2019. I do not know whether the Avs or the Bruins upset loss was the more unlikely.

  12. I'm so mad!! Mad that Eberle wasn't suspended, mad that we didn't add a rental big name at the deadline, and mad that Nuke had to almost kill some hooker. WHAT THE FUCK

  13. Well, it's been fun. They just had everything going against them from puck drop of Game 1 in October. What they managed to do on top of it all was nothing short of amazing. I couldn't be any happier to have Bednar locked up for a bit longer. Had January been where the team ended up staying, it wouldn't have been a shock. But I'm beyond proud to have seen how it played out. It's going to be an interesting summer of re-tooling and hopefully they're able to heal and regroup during the long summer break. Bottom 6 is about to get blown up, and deservedly so.

  14. Things to look at this off-season: 1) Can we get healthy? 2) Can we trade Nuke? 3) How many quality fre agents can we keep after we sign Rodriguez to a long tern deal?

  15. The overturned goal pissed me off to no end. To end your season on that kind of note is just insulting. The Duchene Curse strikes yet again!

But hey, at least we're not Boston, right? Right???

That being said, I dunno. I'm not exactly mad, more disappointed than anything. It is what it is, really. All things considered, this season really should have been much, much worse, and this playoff round was proof. Not enough depth, not enough gas.

Where do we go from here? I don't really know. It's too early to tell and there's too many unresolved questions right now. But I think there's got to be a fairly substantial retooling in the offseason.

So who do we put our support behind for the rest of the playoffs? None of the teams really all that appealing to me.

Final Soundcheck of the season: A Perfect Circle "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish".

  16. If an offensive minded team isn't going to score goals then they sure as fuck better sell out on defense, which none of them did. Wonder if this org will actually add some true defenders for once. Had strong defenders and won a cup. Didn't have defenders, 1st round exit after years of 2nd rd exits. It speaks for itself.

One thing is that Grubauer is NOT worth that money IMO still. He got lucky. He practiced against the Avs EVERY DAY for 3 years. He's seen what they have and capitalized on it. He could telegraph what the Avs were about to do. Not sure if Bednar/coaches did anything to adjust, but it sure doesn't seem like they did. Grubauer will be his usual self in Rd 2 and choke. I'd guess Dallas either sweeps or only goes to 5 games.

  17. Buh Bye Avalanche. Maybe next year you'll think twice about dirty hitting our best player and taking him out of the series.

  18. Well that ended in a whimper. Can the Avalanche at least still call themselves the reigning Stanley Cup champions until it's hoisted by the next champions?

  19. Only ppl not happy bout cog was avs fans. Yet u all are on makers dick who clearly is a dirty player watch him smile as he talks about it

  20. All of these people raging at macfarland and the front office, what did you want them to do? Acquire a top line left wing, a 2nd line center, a middle pairing defenseman and two more quality depth pieces? With what assets?

I personally think this post season has proved them correct. You now have SOME assets to try to plug some potential major holes in the offseason in what is a pretty weak ufa market

  21. Was at the game and although they lost, had a great time. The building was rocking last night. Ultimately, they just didn’t have enough in the tank to go much further even had they won this game and I’m oddly relieved the season is over. Feel like I need a rest and reboot just as a fan so can’t imagine how the players must feel 💤 Really was the season of, “whatever can go wrong, will go wrong”.

  22. This was a tough year really different from last year. The guys were changed by the energy of missing players. They fought back regardless they clinched the title of the playoffs. I’ll be waiting till they begin a new season. You make me happy just watching you a fan since 1997. GO. AVS 🏒💙🥅
