>Dumba knows his Wild career has very likely come to an end, yet he largely kept it together until he was asked about his relationship with Jonas Brodin, his longtime defense partner and bosom buddy.
>That’s when the tears dropped from his glassy, watery eyes.
>“He’s one of my best friends,” Dumba said in one of the most poignant moments of a heartwarming press conference. “He’s the guy the other night that said, ‘You know what? I’m not going to let you play.’ [due to being concussed] So just having that kind of friend that looks out for you like that, he’s a good dude. We’ve played some awesome hockey together. He makes it easy, but more than anything he’s a true friend.”
….
>“He’s one of the more vocal guys if not the most vocal guy on this team,” teammate Ryan Reaves added. “When he talks, it’s a speech you sit there and listen to. I could see how sad he was at the end of (last Friday’s) game thinking it might be his last game.”
Shame he was never the same offensive player after that Pec injury, because he’s such a great person, hope wherever he lands treats him well.

Shame to see him go. I know he has the haters, but he is a class act on and off the ice.
Minnesota will miss him.
Thanks Matt. Best of everything going forward.

Played his heart off on the ice and was a great guy off of it, will be missed

Probably the saddest I’ve ever been to see a player leave. I don’t think we’ll ever be able to fill the hole he’ll leave in the locker room and community.

I will miss Dumba for sure, haters will hate but I wish we could keep him.
Plants_R_Cool
I hope we keep him around. I wouldn’t mind a new coach.

Always been one of my favorites. Good player, better guy. He brought so much value to our community, and stood up for what was right.

I’m really happy we never traded him. He’s a player worth cheering for. He’s not the type of player whose skillset will age well imo, so I hope he gets overpaid long term somewhere that will treat him well, but if he doesn’t, maybe when it’s all over he can come back for one more go at it.
Durge88
If (when) he leaves, I hope he decides to come back and live here when he retires.

Hating on him us what idiots who know nothing about hockey do.

Class act, it’ll be a bummer if he leaves.

It’s a shame we never got to see him live up to his full potential here. You could not ask for a better teammate/person to have in your locker room

This is the crappy icing on my crappy evening cake and I am sad now.

When he’s ready to hang up his skates, I really hope he comes back here. I could see him being an amazing coach. Even if he doesn’t want to do that, I hope Minnesota always feels like home, because he will always belong here.

I remember having a heated debate like 6 years ago about who you’d rather have on your team-suter or dumba. I was team dumba. He had a hell of a lot of missed nets and some chaotic turnovers and d lapses but you can’t say he wasn’t entertaining. Always hoped he’d turn into a brent burns in his prime type player and he fuckin was that year he got hurt. We even saw that kind of player in game 1. Wish we could keep him
Jabba_the_Putt
Wish the team had played harder for him in the series and I hope he doesn’t go

I love him so much. Wish there was a way to keep him! 💚

He caught so much shit for years from racists but he has been, and probably always will be a class act.
