Couch potato gallery wonders why the Flames didn't use the 2 goalie option strategically through the difficult 2nd half of the season.
I hope a new coach causes players to do better but I can't see Markstrom or Kadri or Hubereau being any better because of the changes they are just not working for the team in one way or another and need to go but they can't and won't!
Get rid of winning coach and keep non winning players. Should work out well
The problem with the Flames isn't just Sutter, it's how the league has changed and now every player is pampered and can't handle being disciplined or handle being told they're not playing how they're paid to play. Calling a two time Stanley Cup coach the soul problem of the organization is ridiculous. Stop catering to un-coachable players.
Flames don't have great players Maroney! They have players that quit on the crest on the jersey and the city cause oh I don't like the coach! Enjoy once again having players run this organization.

Good. I appreciate what Darryl has done for this organization in the past but the guy clearly created a toxic work environment for the players with his treatment of younger players and calling the team talentless while never taking accountability himself, then there's the rumors that even the staff couldn't stand him. I'm just glad I won't have to watch a boring hockey system that has the players asses planted on the boards.

I predicted this exactly as it unfolded and calgary media and fans should give me credit for that at least 😉 but all in all a very good day for Flames hockey. I won’t be watching one flames game next season. Coach wasn’t the problem, the dog shit players were.
He's being held accountable for his abuse of everyone in the organisation. He is a jerk to the office ladies, and decided to punish HUbby for being happy. 4 months on his off wing to kill our season. That is what he is being held accountable for. His Soap Opera Queen "Evil Villian" persona, which is his true self. That's why he got fired. Put his anger at 1 player ahead of the entirety of Flameland.
Not just a Sutter problem. The Flames have the oldest bunch of core forwards in the league. But at least they won't get yelled at anymore.
They liked him so much their willing to pay him 4 mil per year to feed cows.

Flames just got rid of a great hockey coach
Think this is the first time since after the 1999-2000 season that the Calgary Flames will have both a new head coach and general manager the next season. Calgary Flames then moved on from Brian Sutter as head coach and Al Coates as general manager. Move is needed now for the sake of the direction of the franchise.
Don Maloney has made the worst decision. The truth is that his vision of Hockey is limited to realize that Sutter with ups and downs always sought the result. The previous Draft was a disaster and the consequences of that disaster still remain. There are no magic solutions. You can't rebuild a team in a few weeks so that they are a synchronized and perfect Hockey squad. You have to work season after season to achieve something that truly represents the spirit of Calgary and Canadian Hockey.
From a Panthers/Kraken fan, Don Maloney should become the next GM by the way he speaks and constructs everything. Unfortunately, I think he is just the interim…
If you watched any of Sutter s press conferences you will understand this decision. He is a toxic bully who is jealous of players with skill because no one in his family had any

More i watch this guy talk the less i can take the flames seriously. My condolences flames fans canadian teams deserve better
