  1. I wouldn’t let Korpisalo go if I were LA’s GM, unless you can get Hellebuyck from the Winnipeg Jets. It’s too bad we’ve got Jack Campbell for another 4 years; I’d love to have Korpisalo as our goaltender.

  2. Oiler fan here, always appreciate your great analysis- i am a real fan of yours.

  3. Although I’m disappointed Kings and Reign hockey is over for their respective seasons, I will always root and cheer “Go Kings Go” and “Go Reign Go” 👑👑 Kings had an outstanding season. Kempe deserves the “A” on his sweater. Vladi needs to get signed ASAP 🤙🏼 Great show Eddie

  4. I don't consider this season a failure. They reached the playoffs and were competitive in every game outside of game 5. Going forward, I agree that signing Gavrikov should be the priority; he just seems to be the right fit in their system and if they can get Korpisalo for a reasonable price, that would be a bonus. Obviously they need to address PK and fine tune their overall defensive structure in the offseason but I don't think they need to do anything drastic personel wise.

  5. Eddie, as a proud EVERYDAYER, I want to thank you for all your hard work producing a great show for us leading up to the season and all season long. As a longtime Kings fan, I have been more informed and “glued” to all the details behind the scenes thanks to you! I look forward to your show everyday and it was like having a buddy to talk to about the Kings each day. Looking forward for all your analysis during the off-season.

  6. This season isn't a failure. The point total went up, some younger guys started to figure it out, and when Blake filled the holes at the deadline it became a legit team. Unfortunately, the late injuries and early goaltending probably cost the team the 1 seed and their opponent is likely now the favorite to win the whole thing. It was a pick 'em series and Edmonton made more plays…. Now going in to next season though, it's imperative to win a playoff series, if not more. The 10 year Cups celebration grace period ends and now with Toronto and NJ winning, we're creeping up that playoff series drought list.

  7. Korpisalo kept the Kings in this series. Edmonton dominated the 5v5 game through the first 4 games. Korpi stood tall, eventually cracked.

  8. Good season all in all to highlight my season notes. Tons of talent in the pipeline. Middle level players are ready to take next steps. Browns jersey retirement was incredible! I’m really looking forward to seeing Clarke and Spence get some more reps. I’m still at a loss on Quick but that’s hockey.

I feel this team is ready to do some damage if we stay healthy and continue bonding. I hope we develop a more hybrid 131 oilers showed us the chinks in our armor. Let’s learn from our mistakes! Time to lick wounds and enjoy the summer! Looking forward to seeing the Kings in October!

    🤍 GO KINGS GO 🤍

  9. It is really kind of the Kings to let us use their training facility to prepare for the Vegas series. ❤

  10. Korpi still needs to go! We need to find a goalie that can be more productive! Yes he played great at times but the last game he was trash! Definitely can find better

  11. Eddie, I can't thank you enough for your great show & insights! As far as whether this season was a success or failure, I say it was neither. Not a success because they did not get past the 1st round again & did not look like the better team nor the better coached team. Not a failure because they had 104 pts & had the disadvantage of injuries late in the season & in the 1st round. I give the HC a "C" grade as he did keep the team together when struggling in first 2 months but didn't make enough adjustments in playoffs. Blake has a big challenge in offseason to acquire impact players with limited cap space. Two big needs: G and LHD. GKG!!!

  12. Oilers fan here. I enjoyed your show throughout this series so thank you. You guys have a good team, going into the playoffs I would have rather played any other team in the Western conference but the Kings.

  13. I gotta give the kings their props and they are a very good test for us. I think overall the kings are the toughest test and opponent of any team we could have faced in the playoffs

  14. Another Oilers fan here, you should definitely feel good about this team going into the future. Of any western conference team, LA Kings make me the most nervous. This is going to be a nasty rivalry for years to come. I don't want to give you any tips but you should go rescue John Gibson from Anaheim.

  15. I'm not as optimistic for the future because I felt like the Kings have failed to show that progress with the young guys. Byfield really regressed as the series went on, and was not only not contributing offensively, but became a big liability defensively. The 4th line was a liability all series and Kings were battling with 3 lines most nights. Kupari, Anderson-Dolan didn't look strong. Grundstrom was was more impactful last year against Edmonton. This is without even mentioning that they stopped trusting Kaliyev outright. Also have guys like Turcotte who might never even make the main team. The Kings don't have a viable center replacement for Kopitar and that's very worrisome long-term, especially with McDavid and Draisaitl in their division. As for if this season was a failure or not, I won't go that far. Villardi missing Game 1 and Fiala missing the first 3 games sort of pump the brakes on that. I thought LA snuck into the playoffs last year due to a weak division, whereas this year I felt they earned their way in. I'm not a big McLlelan fan, and I don't know that he's able to make adjustments or develop young guys. I feel so much of the Kings success on their cup runs were attributed to Terry Murray developing Kopitar and other guys into two way players and really setting that defensive structure. But Murray also wasn't the coach to take them from good to great. I think McLellan may have been the guy to take the Kings out of their low scoring ways, but I'm not convinced he's the right guy going forward. Brandt Clarke coming in soon is a big opportunity, and I hope the Kings develop him correctly. I've mentioned this in other places, but I also don't know what this teams identity is. Wide open all year, winning games 6-5 in Winnepeg. Of all games league-wide, where both teams combined for 6 goals in the first period, Kings were in all 3 at one point. Then post trade deadline they decide to play some defense and start holding teams to 2 or less goals. I think they were playing weaker teams during that stretch but nonetheless, it seemed to change. But Quick and Peterson took a lot of blame, and then Korpisalo was pretty much lit up from Period 2 of Game 4 through the remainder of the series. Kings that had blown 3+ goal leads all year showed back up. I just don't know what this team is or what this team wants to be going forward.
