Rangers were over rated. At the trade deadline they chose Kane and Teresanko, two guys who were on the very downside of their careers, who were both terrible on the defensive side and basically have lacked determination that last few years, more flash than dash.
Yup, that's tha lack of proper coaching; wow, what an awful place and a pretty big upset. A coaching change is entirely possible? Grav Garrad Gallant canna remind me of my Yankees GM., Aaron Boone, that they are not going to win we him; the mitigating factor that applies with Gallant. Well, get em next year. LetsGoRangers,🤘🏼!

Anyone claiming Akira Schmid did anything more than making the basic saves is insane. He barely had to do in anything in 3/4 wins and was shaky af in games 3 and 4. devils just played great in front of him. I can’t recall an amazing save he had to make. Not blaming him. The rangers were ass. But Igor is an infinitely better goalie than schmid let’s all relax

i feel like there's too many cooks in the kitchen like you have too many guys that want to score which causes locker room issues. if i was the management trade some of the goal scorers away for some younger players and keep 1 goal scorer for each line, that way the younger players will give them the puck to score and there will be no locker room problems.

NOT EVEN CLOSE TO A SUPERTEAM. A few legitimately 😂great players (Igor, Fox, Zibanejad), excellent vets (Kreider, Panarin, Trochek), talented youngsters (miller, chytil), two decent but disappointing top 2 draft picks, and two guys who if they were five years younger would be impactful enough to call this a possible Superteam.
Now NJ, on the other hand, is a Lightning/healthy Avs in the making. This team has a perfect cap situation and a top 3 farm system on the way!!! This is the weakest Devil team for the next 5 years. Mark my words.
This was NOT a super team : they had some stars but still not a collective cohesive unit ….. missing a few grinders and a couple seasoned defenseman ….. there is still time bc the are still loaded will young gifted players that haven’t even been on the roster
NJ owned them all season so this wasn’t really a surprise
If the Devils defeat carolina, they will get to the Stanley cup finals. Go NJD!
The Rangers played the game they wanted to games 1 and 2… the rest of the games were how the devils wanted to play. Rangers didn't control since game 2.
Based on the regular season they never came close to what Boston did, now that's a super team! Jersey was better in game 7. If they played 20 games it would go back and forth like this series did. Parity is now here for good or bad and not going away any time soon.
Rangers are the softest, weakest, most gutless team in NHL history. No heart whatsoever.
Without jinxing anything Devils look like they may be the juggernaut in the east conference going forward. Majority of that team is 28 and under. Schmid is looking like the second coming of Brodeur. And there superstar core is locked up. Finally who's there real rival in the East besides the Canes in the Metropolitan, Bruins looked atrocious and may have aged out of contention and Rangers still look like they're trying to figure out who to build around. Toronto and Florida have promise but who knows with those franchises.
Grav, I applauded you for picking the Devils in 7 before the series started but after game 2 you disappointed me and rode the Rangers coattails like every other hockey YouTuber… don’t be a follower and stick to your gut till the end!

3.) As frustrating as our offensive inconsistency was esp after coming out so hard in the first two games atleast we have a young core thats only improving and plenty of veteran talent that'll still be around, plus Shesterkin was as good as he's ever been so no worries there…
4.) If you're wondering if seeing the Avs, TB annnd BOS go out with us makes it hurt any less…yes, yes it does sting a lil less
as a NYR fan this obv sucked but woulda been SO much more demoralizing if our offense never got going (vs being streaky af) or worse, if Igor never got going but having him in net gives us a decade of playoff opps just like Hank did before him (and beside the late Richter/Blackburn/Dunham yrs) we were blessed with Richter before that…lets do for Igor what we couldnt do for Hank and get him that cup!
as a NYR fan, don't discount this Devils team – we're better than we showed and despite giving up 4 in one game, Schmid could make a run, every few yrs some backup/non elite goalie ends up becoming a star for a month or two and thats all it takes to win the cup – plus they're playing tough/hungry hockey – and with BOS out of the way i think they could still struggle with getting to the finals but itll be a lot easier now – that said i do NOT see this NJD team beating EDM/whoever wins the West…regardless of seed
I feel SO bad for Igor…dude put on a show but his offense only showed up in 3 outta 7 games and the 4 they didnt show up are teh 4 we lost…pretty simple.
i wonder if Tarasenko AND Kane just shook up the chemistry TOO much TOO late in the season but who knows…

Rangers have some work to do on the off season. Perhaps it's time to move away from some of these rebuilding pieces to some more consistent talent. Rangers got lost in the allure of kane at the deadline, but truth is: he didn't fill a needed role. Last year, they picked up much better more valuable players at the deadline. Rangers will move some pieces on the off season. Wouldn't be surprised if Laffy is one of them. Goodrow will be another. Vesey maybe a well. Very high paid 4th line team. Trocheck and trouba overpaid for what they brought to the table this year. Strome was way better.
Plenty of blame to go around. Gallant deserves alot as well. He hoped they would do better but didn't really do much to make it happen. Rolling 4 lines in the regular season is fine, but in the playoffs, go with the talent. Poor decisions all around.
The Devils DOMINATED game 7. If not for Igor, it would have been 9-0.
Time and time again if there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians there’s no one there to make the hard plays and sacrifices. This was inevitable
The rangers tried using the oiler and leafs blueprint of building an offensive power house without players to actually play defense. The difference is the rangers have an elite goalie and it still didnt work. The devils won that series because their forwardscan actually play defense and back check. I took the panthers tn on the moneyline because they have the better roster for the playoffs and it was easy money. Panthers will win that series unless they sustain a significant injury because like i said the leafs roster isnt it even with their additions at the deadline..
Patrick Kane was the only star other than the goalie.
They only gave up a 2nd pick for Kane. All picks are crap shoots. Also shows you how much goal tending means. Strangely Kane did not seem to get alot of ice time. Obviously a step slow. Aves are gone to. Kappo and Laufranier look skilless.
If you saw that game seven you'd know this game was in fact nowhere close the first half… The scoreboard may have shown 0-0 but that was because Igor was the only one who decided to play. It was one of the most pathetic performances I've ever seen from a professional team and they're in major trouble in the future with the rangers inept coaching staff that seems to not understand how to develop forwards (I believe the last top 6 F was buchnevich in like 2016)
Superteam? Nah man. Just because their paycheck is high, doesn't makes them good players.
Panarin has 0 goals in the series. No problem for me, if he would have tried to score goals. Like Timo Meier did.
