I feel your pain but at least you have enjoyed your team hoisting the silver 2 times in the past 4 years as a leaf fan try waiting 6,948 games before your team can at least move on to a second round yes I agree Tampa outplayed Toronto but like you say the Leafs were able to find ways to win there is an old saying when playing this game you have to learn how to lose in order to learn how to win for Tampa fans that is a tough pill to swallow but I as a leaf fan for 50 plus years I can tell you i know how you feel

I can tell you that the last time I experienced this type of elation I was 20 years old, now that was a hard fought battle and frankly you guys outplayed us much like we had in recent memory at times. Hats off to Tampa. One of Toronto’s tactics with Vasy was pucks on net from all angles with bodies in front because he is so hard to beat. So although there were a lot of deflection goals off both Toronto and Tampa players, pucks on net with traffic in front was part of the Leafs blueprint to try and beat Vasy. As Stamkos said, the Leafs got some puck luck but they created their bounces. I am sure we will likely see you again next year in round 1. 🤝

It was hard watching the loss yesterday. I had to sit in stunned silence when that puck ended up in the net. But yeah, this is not the end of the world and at least we fought like hell.

The Bolts 110% out played the Leafs in this series aside from game 2. The Leafs got lucky and ultimately Vasilevsky being shaky cost Tampa the series. Inevitably, sooner or later, time catches up. The Lightning are undoubtedly tired and can't possibly be at 100% after all the hockey they've played in the last 3 years. Hell, they won 2 cups in less than a calendar year. The Leafs cashed in on some puck luck, an unwillingness to die, and Tampa's inevitable exhaustion.
Hold your head high Tampa fans. Hell of a series, hell of a team. You guys are a modern day dynasty. This is the first time an Eastern conference team has won a series against you since 2019. That's insane. You've won 22 playoff series since we won our last one in 2004. A year in which you guys also won the cup!
Mad props, can't say I respect ALL of your players (Maroon, Perry, & Kucherov are dirty rats) but you are far from finished with this core. I'm terrified of what this team is going to do after some well deserved rest if they were this damn good while undoubtedly exhausted.
I'm a Leafs fan, but i'm not here to crap on you or the Lightning. You probably understand that the Leafs and fans get a ton of shit from everyone, but you maybe don't qutie understand that we don't even really have our own home coverage, every Leafs game is treated by TSN and Sportsnet as an opportunity to gush about the opponent. If the Leafs are bad they'll talk about they Leafs being bad, but if the Leafs are good, all you hear instead is about the opponents, or even worse teams that aren't involved in the game.
So in order for us to ever hear positive things about our own team, or a comparatively unbiased view we end up having to seek out the foreign feeds of our games, or watch opponents fanbases podcasts to see how things are perceived externally.
In that vein I stumbled on your videos a while back, and although we cheer for different teams I respected your approach. You were fair in winning and fair in losing, and gracious either way. I wish far more sports fans were like you. That's not to say chirping doesn't have its place, but the decency you show is rare.
You don't need me to tell you the Lightning are still a beast and are going to be trouble for us again for years to come, even after having accomplished so very much, and taught us painful lessons in the process, that we needed to learn..
