We need tighter D. We need play like the lighting and hem the panthers in their own zone for minutes on end. Make them take penalties. Traffic in front. Frustrate Bob.

If he puts in Holl after that statement he should be fired as soon as it’s convenient.

A good start would be to stop trying to make the fancy pass all damn night and start putting pucks on net. Worked on Vas, might work on officer bob too

Maybe I was watching a different game but to me the pace seemed higher in round 1.

  5. I feel like Florida didn’t suffocate us the way Tampa did in the offensive zone and our forwards had more time and open space. You’d think that would benefit us, but it seemed like a lot of the guys used that extra bit of time to overthink and hold on to the puck instead of simply getting it on net. I’m sure that Florida will adjust, but we need to simplify

We’re gonna see holl come back with mathews/marner nylander/Tavares swap again aren’t we

Gonna be interesting. Lafferty is our fastest player so these comments signal he should draw in. But Knies was our best player last night and Bunting got a goal. Not sure who comes out. Maybe Lafferty for ZAR and Gustafsson for Gio.

    Knies-Mattthews-Marner

    Jarnkrok-Tavares-Nylander

    Bunting-O’Reilly-Acciari

    Kerfoot-Kampf-Lafferty

    Rielly-Liljegren

    McCabe-Brodie

    Gustafsson-Schenn

Bro just stop playing kampf against tkachuk. I can’t stand keefe during home games

They need to limit the puck flip out of their zone. They are so proficient at it! I guess just tighter checking solves that one?

Meh, I think there was a lot of good to take out of that game. The buds can tighten up, make some adjustments and come back. I think they managed the physicality well very other years (and past rosters). I am very optimistic.

Hey this is what I said!

    Fuck, I should start coaching

I think Bob was the difference maker, the game was pretty even. Leafs in 6 !!

Allow me to translate. We, as a coaching staff, had weeks/months to prepare for Tampa. And, our collective jobs were on the line. Now with Florida advancing we really didn’t prepare or expact that. But our jobs probably are safe for at least one more season, so we’ll just do our normal coaching stuff that has been emblematic of our previous playoff coaching successes.

Hes a shit coach. Noone would think kampf and fuckin kerfoot should be out in dzone starts against tkachuk other than an AHL calibre coach that « trusts » the wrong players. Only time in 1st round theyd do better was goalie out desperation or powerplay or the one game he was better was game 6 with 11/7. Tha t was pathetic last night. He has no idea how to coach at home in playoffs

Main takeaway was how much easier it was for the leafs to carry the puck through the neutral zone. It only became difficult once Florida went ahead late in the 2nd and could sit back for the 3rd

  16. dntstpblevin

The pace was definitely not quicker out there lol.

Florida doing a great job of standing up at the line and clogging the leafs entry. Thought they slowed the game down really well and we didn’t adjust.

  17. THE-BS

In my opinion, only minor adjustments are needed. The difference last night was Bobrovsky, Samsonov & some bad puck-luck around the opposition net. GLG! We got this!!

  18. JohnYCanuckEsq

The Leafs got goalied and the Panthers played a perfect road game.

I’m not worried; it should even out.

Why are there empty seats in the lower bowl? Lots of empty pairs and quads at the end of the rink. Fans also began bailing early before the game was over.

The leafs really have the worst, unengaged fans in the league.

ETA: Lol at the Leaf ‘fans’ in denial downvoting facts.

There were a lot of long passes that just didn’t work out, resulting in Florida puck possession. That could definitely be something to work on.

We need to be much more aggressive on our initial forecheck. Make them make mistakes and try and pin them in their zone.

This run and gun transition game that we played in game 1 only benefits Florida since it is so high variance.

Play a 2-1-2 forecheck, and the attacking forwards need to be relentless with the defensive forward and defense being aggressive on pinches while the other 2 cover off.
