We just barely tested him. Maybe game 3 he played well? But otherwise he was just competent. Kudos to him cause that’s all he had to be, but it’s not like he stole the series.

He was in the AHL all year for a reason.

Everyone was acting like he was Jaroslav Halak against the Capitals in 2010 with his performance, absolutely infuriating. Meanwhile we got Igor in net looking like prime Dominick Hasek just trying to keep us in these fucking games.

My girlfriend’s dad whose a fairweather hockey fan said “it’s tough for the rangers, they just ran into a hot goalie” and I wanted to scream at him lol.

Game 6 is how games 4, 5, and 7 could have gone if the Rangers actually gave consistent efforts and adjusted. We saw it ebb and flow all season. Rangers weren’t good enough in 4 out of 7 games. Devils defense was really good in 4 out of 7 games, Schmid was okay and he really didn’t need to be anything more than that to win.

I think *I didn’t watch* this game was probably a great example of how a competent coach can get a team ready to play. Rod the bod has had a few days to prepare his team, and I suspect this was part of it.

Beating the devils 5-1 in game 1 .. I’ve seen this before

I feel it’s copium in this thread. He shut us down game 7… Granted it wasn’t a whole lot of opportunities but he shut our ass down. Why do you think he took over the series?

Facing the Canes put the mid in Schmid
