Everyone who’s forcing the blame on him is crazy. He was never supposed to be the top guy like he was in Chicago. He was a supplemental piece already with hip issues….and yet he still out scored nearly all of our forward core. The last guy I am pointing the finger at is Kane

I don’t know… Despite being a defensive liability the last couple of years, I *could* be convinced that he’s worth bringing back on a cheap deal if he’s willing to take one, and of course healthy. He was still the 3rd leading scorer for us behind Kreids and Foxy. Some of his turnovers were incredibly frustrating to watch, but I don’t think he was the problem.

Going into next season, our RW depth chart right now is Kakko and… that’s it. If Goody isn’t traded for cap reasons, he’s currently the only other guy under contract who plays RW. We could try flipping one of the LWs again and maybe Motter returns to play on the 4th. I’m also hoping Otter makes the team as the 3RW. Point is we’re super shallow on that side.

I’d prefer to keep Tarasenko, but I just don’t think we’ll be able to afford him. So yeah.

Kaner wasn’t the issue. He was moving well and generating game 7

Dude had spurts where he was the best skater on the team in the offensive zone. Also, despite all that, he still finished a point per game and was the second most productive forward on the team. Literally nobody on this team did anything. The people blaming him are dumb as hell.

Are we going to be able to do any better at RW with the cap?

Kane’s hip problem was the reason the Rangers went out and got Tarasenko. He was a waste of a draft pick, and not worth all the moves that had to be made to fit him in under the cap.

So he was injured, he should’ve just gotten the surgery and let us keep everything we gave up

Honestly he was one of the more visible players in several games this series. He was ok, certainly way better than most of our players

I’m not blaming him. I’m blaming the decisions around him. I could tell from the second we got him at the deadline that something wasn’t right. And then we kept going to him and going to him and going to him. 1st line. 1st PP over and over. And then it got really bad against the devil’s and yet we kept going to him. Finally they decided to not keep going to him but it was too little too late at that point.

Dude was a waste and honestly hurt his legacy with this. Was a big fan of his watching him on his prime but had not seen the blackhawks play since they became a non factor these last few years…… I imagine this is what he did with them these last few seasons of playing hockey that does not matter and off ice controversies.

In my opinion no longer a consideration for a top 5 US born hockey player …. Here is where I put him now.

    1)- Roenick
    2)- Modano
    3)- Chelios
    4)- Leech
    5)- Richter
    6)- Mullen
    7)- Tkachuk
    8)- Housely
    9)- Lafontaine
    10)- Kane

Kane is not why the Rangers lost and anyone that says otherwise is looking to place blame on the wrong player. If you want to jump on someone look at Panarin

What is his contract status is he coming back?
