Most unlikely rookie in the way he did it as a defenseman. He didn’t flash some crazy skill but made mistakes. He’s just solid, like Stralman at 30 years old was a rookie.

I said before and I’ll say it again. Perbix helped from Day 1 stabilize a D core that just lost several key people. He wasn’t originally expected to make that leap so fast. But he did. He got better throughout the year and not only that but outplayed some guys the Lightning originally recruited to fill those slots. Raddysh joining late in the year also helped. Is Perbix perfect? No. Was it easily one of our most valuable key pieces and one of our best players of the year? Yes.
