  1. What a statement game by the Oilers – ppg, ppg, shg, evg (in the 1st period!) followed by Kane beating the stuffing out of Kolazar and other players sticking up for each other breaking up the “boredom” of watching the oil shut down the VGN to close out the game.😮
Always a pleasure having Kurt step into the podcast. Sincere condolences to David

  2. The reason Vegas won't win, is their "fan" base. Hard to get motivated when your fans boo your team and bail so early.

Being an entertainment city, I guess getting their asses kicked, wasn't too entertaining.

  3. As Kane said, if they want to "fuck around and find out", bring it.

  4. 97 likes….should i really push for the #98 ?
Come on – let us not be that superstitious 🙂

  5. Draisaitl is FINALLY getting the love he deserves outside of Oilersnation. No more “If it wasn’t for McDavid…”

Second game of the series and woooooooo the Oilers were coming to play. Leon was a machine. Connor one upped him by getting a secondary assist (and instead of getting a 5 on 5 goal he got a shortie). Bouch was great too as were Nuge (2 assists), Hyman (3 assists) and Yamo being the only Oiler with exactly 1 point on the night (everyone else had 2 or 3 because, I mean, it's the Oilers). Brossoit got shelled during the 1st period and didn't get a lot of extra help in the 2nd. The third the Oilers were more quiet and VGK louder but they got one deserved goal on Stu who was great all night. Stu didn't get as much help as I'd like to see yet he pulled off a .968 save %age. This one was physical with Kane having 24 minutes of penalties, Bjugstad having 12, Kostin with 5. The boys were wrecking them on special teams with 3 PP and 1 Shortie. I mean for a bit there you had to think Vegas must have thought Leon thought he was playing Nashville or something because he OWNED them. Forwards got shorter shifts but Nurse played over 24 nearly 25 minutes (all other defenders below 20). Nice to see the second and third PP lines get some chances too. All in all a great game, Oilers, effectively, have home ice advantage now (if it's an advantage). Monday here we come. Take care all.

  7. Was surprised at how badly LV responded when down. The bench looked liked they’d lost the series. Oilers don’t respond that way- they just keep the hammer down when they’re losing. I’m calling this ‘the Eichel effect’! 😂😏

  8. Stauffer mentioned after last game that a bug was going through the team, perhaps this game proves that out!

  9. Glad they mentioned Derek Ryan! I agree that every time he was on ice he was noticeable!!

As for Nuge, he owns racing horses and it's the beginning of horse season and I think we're seeing where his loyalties lie?!

  10. To me Draisaitl’s record so far is more impressive in todays game of hockey than any all time record already. Much more difficult to get that many points today than 100 years ago. 100 years ago Drai would be unstoppable.

  11. I mentioned during the 3rd period what the officials should do, and they finally did it. When any team that is getting beaten as bad as the Knights were start getting really chippy and looking to injury, the instigator, no matter what happens gets the extra penalty, and the winning team gets the PP. Then you talk to the losing teams (Cassidy) coach. You tell him if the vicious stick work and extra cirricular stuff keeps happening they'll have one less player on the ice the rest of the game. They can still play hard, finish their checks etc but the deliberate attempts to injure players should not be tolerated

  12. Nice seeing Bruce leading the podcast, what a gem, and Kurt is excellent.
So good seeing Deharnais leaning in + Ryan, Kane and Kostin showing their mettle. Very exciting
