Leafs are being forechecked into the middle of next week. And they can’t dig down deep enough to play that type of playoff hockey! They know they are a good talented group…. but they are pushing their passes thru and wishing they’d go thru a solid forechecking team. And then they pout when the passes don’t go thru. A few guys are committed to complete forechecking but the rest aren’t. Florida does. Nylander looks like Jimmy (don’t touch me) Carson. The whole team needs to be the crunchers. Regardless of their talent. And if they are injured …. Get the f$&k out of the line up. Detroit will pass Toronto in cup wins over the next 10 years!

Panthers beat the Bruins. It only makes sense they should have no trouble with the Leafs. Paul Maurice has more experience than Keefe. Keefe will learn from this experience and do better in the future. No sense in firing the Leaf management.

Sad part is, the Panthers won game one, then have been gifted games 2 and 3. Sooo many goals from turnovers, if they face a defensively tight team or a team that plays a fairly solid two way game like Carolina I wonder if they get the same results. Hats off to goalie Bob for turning into his Vezina calibre self as well. Series is over, now just a matter of is it over embarrassingly or do they actually win a game or two.

Just prior to Samsonovs getting injured he turned it over and he was no where's to be found. Useless with no heart.
Toronto has already lost this series. They can't even string three solid periods together let alone winning the next four games. As so often happens, they let their opponents outwork them. It's obvious, Florida wants it more, and the team that wants it more deserves to advance. The Leafs look like they are already packing for the cottage.
Regular season is about hockey. Playoffs are war, you have to risk getting hit, hurt, and doing whatever it takes to win. The Leaf core does not have this in them. This has been known for years, yet Dubas has refused to do anything about it. Matthews is a nice addition to a team that already has grit, so is Marner, so is Tavares. But on the SAME team? What you get is a bunch of marshmallows. And Leafs are not committed to team defense, not even close. Panthers are, they are tight checking, getting to pucks first, and are HUNGRY. Leafs don't seem to give two cents about Stanley.
Maurice deserves a lot of credit. A good coach takes away what the other team does well. The Leafs are pushed to the perimeter, are pestered with forechecking, which takes away the Leafs dangerous transition game, are hit constantly, and are restricted to hurried flourishes around the Florida net. The Cats are a skilled club, (Scored more goals than the Leafs this year, led the NHL in Shots on goal, and were # 2 in goals by their Defence.) So when the opportunity presents itself, they can pounce. Both their first and winning goals were high skill efforts. Not saying it is impossible, but Leafs need to get a few breaks to force # 5.
30+yrs as a Leafs fan I will always support them no matter what, but I really don’t see any reason at all that they can win the next 4 games. The fact is 9 games into the playoff, they have either been outplayed or lost the game in 8 of them, they are supposed to bring the game to another level in the playoff especially in this game 3 but that didn’t happened. I don’t see how they could suddenly do it.

Toronto actually missed opportunity.. im not a fan of firing coaches but they should have changed coaching this season to a more experienced hardliner. Paul maurice outcoaching keefe… trotz maybe could get them far. Maybe cooper is next years toronto coach… or another. They have to get them a tough smart coach… the players dont get it..
