  1. My friend, we were never increasing our odds that much. Quit dwelling on it.

  2. shorthanded

This guy still has a show hey

  3. ANarrowUrethra

At least we aren’t Sid Seixeiro, the only guy in the industry with worse takes than Skip Bayless

  4. Romance_Tactics

Copium. It’s a strong drug. When you plan the parade after a first round series win and then blow it against a team that barely made the post-season, I’d probably not want to look in the mirror either.

  5. MentalMulisha1996

At least Canucks fans can say they’ve watched their team in the finals more times than the leafs in the last 43 years . Small victory.. but it dulls the pain

  6. impulse1337

How’s that working out for Toronto? In one year the Canucks won a play-in round, a round against the defending champs, and nearly beat one of the cup favorites in 7. All that is more than Toronto has done in the Dubas era, and the Canucks have managed to get high picks and sign them for less than 10 million. Sure it would’ve been sweet to win the lotto (our luck would never allow that) but Toronto is about to blow it all up. Frickin dingbat.

  7. Treks86

Makes sense that this guy puts so much value in losing, cause God damn he’s a fucking loser

  8. Ruilin96

Even if we didn’t win these meaningless games, we won’t suck enough to 3rd last OA. At best(worst?) we finish bottom 6 in the league, not enough to finish lower than Chicago. And if we did, we would fall from 3 to 5. Because Bettman will find a way for the Hawks to win the lottery.

  9. Dear Leaf fans:

At least it didn’t take us 19 years and a 1OA to win a playoff round.

E: Even Jim Fucking Benning won a playoff round faster than your beloved Kyle Dubas. Let that sink in.

  10. TruYu96

Some of the replies lol if the Canucks were 3rd worse with players like Petey, Quinn, etc. then I’ll be more concerned the fact that our players suck. Good thing that isn’t the case

  11. nite_awol

    Dear Laugh fans:

The Vancouver Canucks can put up a better fight against the Panther.

  12. ggpurplecobras

Well, Sid, the Leafs drafted a franchise altering player in 2016, and they’re on pace to not have won a game in the 2nd round during the 7 years since that draft. So, congrats?

  13. carry-on_replacement

the only upset was in the top (bottom?) 3, and we were never gonna sink down to that level even without firing Boudreau and Demko coming back

  14. shadownet97

Who cares what this loser thinks?

  15. fan_22

This guy is a clown. Embarrassing takes.

  16. TheRealTollah

What a complete and utter moron.

We never had a shot at 30th place. Not ever.

  17. JTMilleriswortha1st

I’d much rather be a Canucks fan than a Leafs fan. Which is hard to say because being a Canucks fan sucks the majority of the time

  18. Did the Canucks win meaningless games, or show that they’re actually not that shit when they aren’t relying on an AHL goalie to be their starter.

The media seems to forget that Pettersson is only a year away from being eligible to put the Canucks in the same situation that Tkachuk put the Flames in. They have to show him there’s still the framework of a competitive team

Maybe you could argue that Bedard long term has a higher ceiling than Pettersson. But the Cnaucks would also lose Demko and Hughes as UFAs along the way if they sucked, so they’d still be worse off

  19. TheOdiin

The Canucks have won the same number of playoff series as the Leafs ever since they got Matthews lol

  20. AverageMaleAged18-24

    Shut the fuck lil dick

  21. hardluckcanuck

Worry about your own team Sidiot

  22. CanadianPFer

This guy is an insufferable twat. I don’t know how he still gets airtime.

  23. sam4999

Fuck off back to breakfast television, Sid.

  24. randomj77

We have had a decade of absolute misery and we still have more wins in the second round in the last ten years than the Leafs lmao

  25. kruizer28

I don’t think we were ever below Chicago besides the first 10 games of the season. Also we had like league worst goaltending for half of the season, we tanked pretty much as hard as we could on that alone. This team is not a bottom 3 team

  26. kublaidinguskhan

Sid’s just showing he doesn’t know anything about this franchise. We all know that even if the Canucks had the very best odds, they still wouldn’t have won the lottery. That’s Canuck luck, and it’s followed this team for decades.

  27. Spookedchicken

Here’s an interesting hypothetical who would you rather be? spurred on by this tweet.

Would you rather be a fan of a team who has become a laughing stock by making 2 playoff appearances in 10 seasons with 1 playoff series win in that time span. Every offseason the team makes all these moves to bolster the roster, promises playoffs or bust and every year like clockwork the team is out of the picture by December/January and the team is golfing by April.

    or

Would you rather be a fan of a team who has become a laughing stock by making 7 playoff appearances in 10 seasons with 1 playoff series win in that time span. While the team is a exciting and fun to watch in the regular season you can’t quite shake the feeling that you’re being built up to be disappointed yet again in the playoffs. Time and time again the team lets you down by losing series in the most frustrating ways imaginable.

  28. flowrider1969

Canucks are painful but at least we know it and aren’t living in a fantasy world where we think everything revolves around them.

  29. crap4you

Does he really think that the wins down the stretch cost us 1OA? No way the team was falling that far down.

  30. notmyrealnam3

    Lol , leaf fans are
Hilarious. Sucks to be them, hope they never win anything.

  31. PetterssonForCaptain

How did Columbus or Anaheim fair after losing all their games down the stretch? Only one team gets Bedard, there are no guarantees.

  32. CanucksKickAzz

If only we covered up sexual assault and other things, maybe then we could have gotten 1OA. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess

  33. ANarrowUrethra

Mathews is only signed until the end of next season and has a full NMC next year. They better win something soon or there will be pain all over again!

  34. travworld

Kind of a meaningless tweet. Implying that if the Canucks kept losing that’d have Bedard guaranteed. We all know that was never going to happen.

  35. makeanewblueprint

Sids ego is more bloated then Charles sausage fingers. Not giving this the time of day for a wannabe sportsertainment nobody.

  36. ZackyGood

I’m just dreaming that Bedard will walk up as the number 1 pick. Shoot Bettman the double birds and put a Canucks hat on in front of the Blackhawks gm.

  37. EvrcrCPA

We could have finished last and I guarantee we wouldn’t win the lottery anyway.

  38. cheguevara9

This piece of shit said Messi was a fraud. It’s obvious he’s just spewing all this garbage to rile people up and get more attention. Pay him no mind.

  39. LeftToaster

    Dear Leafs fans.

It’s not your fault, but I hope the Leafs NEVER win another playoff series and NEVER win another Stanley Cup.

It’s not so much the fans or the team. I hate the Toronto based sports media with a burning passion. It doesn’t matter what network – CBC, TSN or SportsNet, they are all the same. Everyone from the play-by-play and colour commentators, the rink side reporters, the panels and analysts, the producers, directors, executives, camera people, security, caterers, drivers, janitors and receptionists – are Leafs fans. This colours the broadcast of all sports. It doesn’t matter if the Leafs are good, bad or somewhere in between – the rest of the country gets Leafs coverage force down our throats. The only time this ends is once the Leafs are annually eliminated from the playoffs. Until then, we get west coast televised games « joined in progress » after the Leafs go to overtime. Between period and post game analysis of Canucks (and Flames, Oilers, Jets and Senators – the Habs at least get dedicated coverage on RDS) games are cut short for the Toronto perspective while panelists debate a phantom call or non-call against the Leafs 4th line left winger – just before the jump to Jays or Raptors coverage.

I also hate the losers who show up at Canucks games in Leafs jerseys with Gilmour, Clarke or Sundin on the backs. Those losers never won anything. As much as I respect true fans or any franchise – when your team hasn’t been to the final since 1967 and you are living in Vancouver (or Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, etc.) leave your 20 year old goddamn Leafs jersey at home.

While I do hope a Canadian team will win the cup, this goes for any Canadian team except the Leafs. Remember how the Toronto media bitched about the Canucks in 2011 – calling the Sedins soft divers, Burrows dirty, Kesler a diver (or « chicken wing » Kesler), etc.? At least they didn’t disappear in round 2 like Mathews, Marner and Tavares.

So from all of us out west, I’d like to wish the Leafs a hearty FUCK OFF and hope the Panthers sweep your ass.
