What a great first round for Bouchard
Ken Holland, it turns out, is way smarter than people gave him credit for. The team is incredible and pulls through in beautiful, surprising ways.

Yes, Ken Holland has done a fine Job, after he got this team tougher. Great with coaching as well! And All the Players are buying in and stepping up! This is a team that wants that Cup! Go get them boys, Lets Go OILERS!!!

Holland is doing a great job. This team is better now then they were last playoffs by a large margin. Bigger team without losing speed so we arent getting bullied anymore. Way better on defence. Even the signing of campbell which most people will point at as a great overpayment is not that bad. Im sure they invisioned it a little differently but campbell was brought in to provide security while skinner developed into a statting goalie. Campbell was rhe best option at the time and his 5 year deal allows for stability in net(by that i mean not having to deal with a contract or forced to looking for another goalie in the next two years). Im sure the plan was to have campbel take 60-70% of the starts this year. Vloser to 50-50 next and then have skinner taking 60-70% the year after so the timeline got moved up a little but skinner seems ready. The other point is that despite campbells number not being very good this year, the most important goaltending stat is wins and campbell pkayed good enough to get a fair number of wins(more than his 6.25 million replacement in toronto got).

And one thing that is not talked about during these holland disccussions….holland was the guy that moved on from tippet mid season and brought in woodcroft-manson. Holland had never done that before but knew it was the right call and recognized that woodcroft had the skills, experience and connection with many of the oilers players to build a real TEAM atmosphere with everyone working towards the big prize. This may be hollands best acquisition in putting in a guy who is a rookie NHL head coach to get this team moving to the next steps.
