Inexcusable, blatant attempt to injure beyond reason. Absolutely should be a suspension
Pietrangelo is VGK´s best defender. Draisaitl is EDM best scorer. Kane has been targeting Pietrangelo for 3 games now. This is simply Pietrangelo´s way of saying to Draisaitl "you need to have a talk with your teammate because if I´m going down, you´re coming with me" Was it a dirty play? Absolutely! Quite surprising to be honest. Is what Kane been doing the last couple games worse? I would argue yes. A stick to the face gets a 2 minute roughing call? Come on! The refs have failed this entire series and now the boil is coming to a head. These last 3 games could be fun!
NGL, the commentators even bringing up the hits Pietrangelo has taken feels like equivocation. There's a pretty big difference between late hits, high hits, hits with a bit more stick than they should have and a two handed over head chop.

That slash is borderline criminal. If a guy did that to someone on the street, they'd be charged with assault. Pietrangelo needs to sit for a couple games, and maybe go for anger management counselling. What a psychopath.

The NHL needs some kind of carry over rule to stop players from committing these kind of penalties late in the game. They might think twice if they know they’re going to start the next game shorthanded. Same crap in the Leaf/Panthers game.
