  1. Gil, I'd keep 12 over 27. Ottawa needs a veteran "leader" who better than Lee! If we can get Lees 7 million off the books…Holy shit! I feel that famous Islanders false hope creeping up on me…

  2. I don’t think the Sens want anything L will offer. Lou’s not going anywhere. Debrincat is much much more than one of the 3-20+ goal scorers I talked about recently

  3. Bring cat to isles. Cat's production went down a little this past season without kane on the other side. Have to dump bailey and find a taker for lee to make it happen. And what about bo? He seems a bad fit on isles and has a ntc that kicks in on july 1. Could move bo before 7-1. And av's have a lot of cap room next season with landeskog on ltir thru next season and have the kadri hole and interest before tdl. And sens are in ownership flux right now. Only problem is isles with not much to offer lou would dip into '24 picks like first, second-to do this. Once again just like with all isle trade talk i don't see how this is possible asset wise and from salary standpoint. Unless say lee is or jpg (back to sens) is packaged in this deal or bo moved how can lou do it? And what does cat want as rfa? And does cat want to stay in ott. with new owners coming in? Lee (retain part of deal)/romanov, '24 second for cat. Re-sign mayfield. Too bad isles didn't pull a cat deal off at last june's draft with that first that went for romanov instead as sens had the higher first to give hawks for cat. Get cat, sign tarasenko, and fix your top six lou. vt, barzal, cat. bo? nelson, palmieri. And lou will love cat's -31 last season. Had 11 ppg's.

  4. Let's be honest with Ross Johnston under contract was resigning Matt Martin necessary? It absolutely wasn't. They play the same role and Ross is cheaper and at this point tougher. Lou has done a terrible job managing the cap.

  5. As good as this guy is, it’s another pipe dream. Need to start a retool at the very least. Need to keep sorokin.

  6. Love to him but!!….with the pending sale of the Sens,I don't think they're parting with him,it would drive that 1 billion price tag down, the Melnyk girls wouldn't tolerate that

  7. This doesn't make any sense from Ottawa's side of things. trading his signing rights is the last thing they would do. if they can't sign him long term, they'll sign him to his QO and then trade him. and then you hit the issue of the isles not having anything the sens want.

  8. Hi Gil, I like your idea about getting Alex debrincat. We need a player to score goals. Like i said you have a great show. Enjoy your happy Mother’s Day ! I have a place in north New Jersey so heading up there also to see mom. No baseball this weekend with my son Scotty. I need a little break lol

  9. No way Debrincat goes to the Islanders without including Noah Dobson in the deal. Besides the Sens need a power-forward on the left-wing to replace Debrincat, and the one power-forward that checks all the boxes the Sens need is a Pierre-Luc Dubois. Unless Dobson is in the deal, I have Debrincat being traded to the Jets for Pierre-Luc Dubois. Dorion would be completely out of his mind trading Debrincat to an eastern team unless it was a steal, and Dobson has to be in the trade.

  10. Alex DeBrincat is a big defensive liability, and I don't think he'll ever change much. Patrik Laine 2.0 No way Yoda trades for him.

  11. Nop….to young for Islanders this is mature team 35 and plus🤣….just joking like to see him in Islanders uniform …Lou get out…..

  12. Good morning Gil and fellow Islander fans. Sorry for not commenting yesterday. Watched the show on my YT app on the big screen TV lol. Great show yesterday and today again. What are the REAL possibilities of getting DeBrincat? Doesn't seem doable with our cap and not being able to offer the Senators what they are looking for. Maybe signing him at a lower salary and adding a 'bonus' to make up for the rest of the salary he is looking for. I don't even know if that is possible with hockey contracts as they do in the NFL. My idea of a younger faster team of no names is beginning to sound better and better every day. No cap problems for several years lol. Looking forward to the show tomorrow. Let's Go Islanders!!

  13. Hi Gil! These topics are definitely fun to discuss. What bothers me is that Lou overpays for a guy like Jg—-but didn’t want to do the same for Debrincat? He overpaid for Palmeri. Yet Sens got him cheap. I’ve wanted Laine for Barzal for couple years now. Salary is always the issue—neither is a Lou kind of player-they are a Dubas kind of player. I’ll take anyone as Gm—-We are stick with high end grinders with Lou—-this is a kid you sign long term but Lou would never do it. Dobson would have to be part of the deal—-if he didn’t get him last year and could have—he won’t get him this year. Bottom line? The reason teams get turned around? They get a new Gm that is progressive and take chances or wait it out and draft well ala Devils. Sorry boys—If Lou is here—we’re stuck with at best “Low to high end grinders”. ———-Ps—Ross? If ya put him on waivers-he will be gone in a heartbeat. He hasn’t been in “game nor fight shape”. He does not play and that’s a detriment to his condition and career. We will wait for Matty to become completely shot (close) and then if Lou is still here—then Ross will go on waivers. He’s never been given a fair shot. Take care Gil-excellent show.

  14. Debrincat hit the most post in the entire league last year, was remarkably unlucky. Wasn't utilized properly on the second line with the rookies Centerman and line jumbling's all year. His playmaking is severely underrated and his defence of game is much better than you're giving him credit for. Senators had some of the worst defence until the last month of the year. Not sure what New York would have to offer Ottawa now that their defence is short up. They do need a number one goalie…

  15. If only the key Isles didn’t have so much mileage, then it would be a matter of adding more and more snipers. Look at the playoffs. Teams copying Isles and Tampa. Those teams are still in it. Vegas, Dallas, Seattle, Florida and now the Leafs…

  16. Gil, you're obviously struggling to talk Islanders every day lol The Islanders get DeBrincat this offseason, and I need to treat you to a steak dinner. And I'm not worried about paying because we have a better chance at getting visited by extra-terrestrials.

  17. As a Sens fan, we are looking for a starting goalie first and foremost. Bottom 6 depth to help 5 on 5 play would be next. so, whatcha got?

  18. I feel like this team has two options they need to face. They either need to go all in with a Debrincat trade by shipping Lee/another forward, a pick or two, and a prospect. Or they should heavily retool and prepare for the future by cleaning out the older players with less of an impact for any value. If they don’t do either of those I’m just scared they’ll be stuck in mediocrity and purgatory for the next 5+ years.
