Toronto 3 Games Away From Next Round. I picked Maple Leafs to win series and tonight. I thought this game was going into OT. As figured Woll would not be getting a shutout here. Either way it was a lot closer than the Knights game. Kings in 2012 started every series including SCF with a 3 0 lead only sweeping one team. I don't think they swept Vancouver or Coyotes so maybe it was Blues. I still remember that game Quick lost in Double OT when bobbled puck behind net when LA was on PP hehe. So its not really easy to sweep a team. Odd how lopsided some of these games have been. Florida Panthers probably started to get nervous as they could win Cup. NOt much can say when Bob only lets in 2 Goals. Needed more pressure on Wall :).
Knew we would get one just wasn't sure which of these we would get. Now we are going to be pumped to bring this back home. Game 5 should be great, looking forward to the buds playing in front of the home crowd again with this same effort defensively loved Woll tonight. We're on the board.

First Playoff game by Panthers that they looked flat and didn't play with an edge but maybe expected with a 3-0 lead and winning 6 straight games.
Gudas tried to put Kampf through the boards after the whistle blew and we got the penalty after for the horrendous infraction of “holding the stick”. I’m not going to say Brodie wasn’t but that was a vicious hit after the play and it not going punished was infuriating. Plus Brodie was hit after the whistle earlier in the game as well.
I am a fan of TO when they don't score in the first. They always ALWAYS seem to take it easy when they go up by 2 or more in the first

Leafs avoid the sweep and they looked good. Although speaking to a friend of mine, who is a life long Leafs fan, she said "Yeah but knowing them, they avoided elimination only to lose at home in front of the home crowd, just to really stick it in us fans. That is the plight of being a Leaf fan cos that would be the leafiest thing they could do."
Primary assist on that first goal should have gone to the ref…
The whistle goes around 0.5 seconds before Gudas hits. I'd like to see ANYONE stop after that.
Also, it's the Referee behind Gudas making that call. If the ref behind the net does his damn job and calls that penalty, there's more than enough reasoning to argue that Gudas should have, or ought to have known, that the play was being called dead. He doesn't have eyes on the back of his head.

I watch these 2 teams play. Then I watch the Canes-Devils series. The defense in this series is horrible. I have never seen worse blue lines before. Maybe I am just biased due to being a Canes fan. But the blue line skill or lack there of is very noticeable.
So the NHL won't do anything about that dirty ass hit at the buzzer? Or the cheap shots right in front of the refs… I love hard nose hockey but the cheap crap isn't entertaining.

Myabe I'm crazy, but I just wasn't impressed by Toronto, Felt more to me the Cats just didn't want it. They were content just playing regular hockey and if they won cool, if not, maybe best Bobby wont get cold sitting with a sweep. I have a hard time believing Tkachuk wont have a killer game between now and 7
Leafs still were not hitting enough. If the big guys (Schenn and McCabe) started dropping bodies it would slow down Florida substantially and the games would go a lot easier.

A close game and Toronto got some breaks. They aren't out the woods yet though by any stretch. I still haven't seen enough from Matthews (maybe he is injured?). If they can pull off a convincing win at home then we have a series.
I wasn't expecting a sweep in game 4, but I didn't expect Florida to come out as flat as they did. The puck was bouncing all over the place. No clean passes or shots or break outs. I credit the Leafs clogging up the ice. The Leafs were gifted a break on the first goal, but credit to them, they put it in the net. As far as I could see from my chair, the Panthers didn't look like themselves until the last 10 minutes of the game. I expect them to adjust for game 5 and I'm feeling they'll close out the series, barring a bounce of the puck not in their favor. My main complaint is, of course, why weren't the Leafs playing like this if not in game 1 then at least in game 2? Why wait until you're painted into a corner to make adjustments? It's why, after 50 years, I find myself rooting for the other teams.

I would like a special mention on situations where something unexpected happes, like in the first goal of toronto where the ref is the only reason why the puck came right in front of the goal in the first place. I dont watch the parts where thg reads from board that there was a shot on goal. I would like a minimum ammount of shots and rather tell the story in a way such as puck control and wich line is having good shifts, as a good shift is better than a shot fired.
Gonna start by saying still think the Leafs deserved the win (and the goal) but was at the game last night and the first goal looked very offside – showed it on the Jumbotron and seemed like they were gonna review it. Can someone why it wasn’t/wasn’t challenged (also gonna say I personally think slight offside are stupid regardless to take back a goal regardless) —- just looking for some info, thanks.

I always look at the other teams who have a laugher and think why can't the Leafs ever do that? It happens so rarely. We always take the path of most resistance
