I mean this in the most non-banter sense possible – completely genuine… they are a garbage fan base. I don’t even buy into the whole NHL fan shit talk thing because I think it’s absolutely useless. Ranger fans can be brutally insufferable and I’ve accepted that, but I just find it hilarious that Devil fans behave the the way they do – then have the balls to talk about how bad NYR fans are. As a devils fan this meme is painfully true. I love the Devils, and love beating the rangers because it’s a close rivalry. But I haven’t put one thought into the Rangers since the series was over.
Most of the fanbase is hanging their hats on “we beat the Rangers the first round!” And it’s stupid and pathetic.
It should be about the growth of the team and the turnaround but instead it’s the constant little brother syndrome. I absolutely hate it.
