With the Leafs loss to the Panthers the Jets move from having the 19th overall selection to the 18th pick.

I guess the next question is who do we pick. I honestly have no idea when the drafting is passed, say 7 or 8th.

NHL central Scounting has Dragicevic and Bob Mac has Cristall at 18th. We know that Chevy can pick off the board sometimes, too.

Nate Danielson would be amazing but he will be gone sooner than 18th.

we can obviously have fun speculating about who will be available at 18, but in reality there’s a good chance it will be moot.

At this point even Chevy **must** understand the roster needs a major shakeup. If any of Dubois, Scheifele, Hellebuyck, Ehlers or Connor are traded, a top 15 pick could be the part of the return. Or a next-tier guy like Pionk, Schmidt or Heinola might be used to trade up. Or we might trade down to acquire a player (or dump a contract). Or Chevy might completely go nuts and trade the pick for a player, one for one.

That’s all just to say, if Chevy performs roster surgery to the extent virtually everyone agrees is needed, it’s unlikely the Jets’ first pick in the draft will be 18th overall.

They need to draft Big Bobby Clobber.
